My beautiful mare that started the "OMGiH, I loff my Mare" Clique (pg 6)

Oooh meee!! My mare is the best, and I am a true mare person, I love mares.

This is Miss Adelita Marie, aka Ms. Lips.

AddieTreats.jpg

I want to join too! I have the best mare ever, have owned her for 6 years now, and enjoy her more and more each day.

Here she is: Lovey Mae

Yes, she is a red chestnut Saddlebred mare. But she is the best!

Caitlin

I want to join! The mares that have been posted have been so lovely! Gotta love those sweet grey mares right OM! You can see mine in my webshots. (Is it just me - mares have the sweetest faces )

Can I join?

I am definitely a mare person. Geldings are fine, but I fall in love with mares. I don’t know what it is about them - I just love them to death! I will even put up with the hissy fits every now and then.

There are pics of my girlie in my signature. I loff her.

WOW, what gorgeous mares we all have!!

I know … and it wasn’t hard was it? I LOFFED looking at all the snaps!

I posted pics of my little homebred already, but today was such a georgous day, so I got a chance to work her in the paddock (aka my roundpen) and took a few pic that I wanted to share. I love my girl!!

maggie Jumping - and no one better make fun of my “standards”

Standing with Sidereins. I know some people hate sidereins, but she needs to strengthen her top line, and tends to have a giraffe neck, so rather the fight with her, I decided to free lunge her with teh side reins. After a few minutes she was trotting around nice and soft…of course I didn’t get any pics of THAT, lol.

I DID get this cute troting picture though, before I put the side reins on.

She was sooo good today!

Me, too! I’m in. My filly is now officially a mare, I guess, at 2 years old.

Here is my website with LOTS of pictures of her growing up.

(It’s a little overboard, but she was my law school graduation present. When I started going to law school at night, my husband promised that when(if) I finished, I could custom breed my next show horse. That promise kept me going. When I would get down about school, I would look at stallions and plan/dream about the foal. After 3 1/2 years of school and the 11 months during the pregnancy, this was one MUCH ANTICIPATED foal.)

Count me in!!! I LOFF my mare(s). Absolutly THE BEST. Never have a gelding or (God forbid) a stallion. My mare will do backflips for me (of course, not with me on her!).

Chef - Miss Jade is just SO lovely! So, did I see in another thread that Popeye K is the stallion of choice for your beauteous girl?

Long time rider, first time mare owner. This mare came into my life last year, and I am so sold on her. Nothing in the world beats the way she buries her muzzle in the crook of my neck and greets me after work.
Brio

My first horse was a mare and I loffed her so very much that she gave me a filly…the most beautiful red roan filly…been gone a long time now…it still hurts my heart. I am a re-rider after a 20 year time off, and bought a gelding and I do loff him very much, but a few weeks ago bought a mare and her beutiful 9 month old filly, and the physical and mental attraction to both was immediate, so BONK ME PLEASE!! I think we might need to add “Bonk me” to the thread about finging, and numping though…I just told my hubby about this thread, and being bonked, and I can’t repeat what he smarmily replied!

Hopefully the newest member of OMGiH, I LOFF My Mare Clique!

You guys are just wonderful… everytime I get discouraged about the, well, let’s just say the ‘less than polite’ people in the horse world, something like this cheers me up!

You’ve all been bonked and of course welcomed into the OMGiH I love my mare clique (especially you arnika–you got an extra-special-bonk-with-multi-colored-sprinkles!)

What a happy bunch we are … and how very very lucky we are to have these wonderful ladies in our lives.

P.S. Yes, num1train, I do just kiss that face … nonstop. She’s the best thing to happen to me in years!!!

I’m on my 3rd mare as an owner (4th, if you count my first pony, a very kindly and long-suffering elderly Shetland who my parents picked out for me, gulp…43 years ago ), and have ridden countless more over the years. They have all had distinctive personalities, were mostly very loving, but my latest one, who I have now, is absolutely the sweetest thing ever–I just wish I could post pix, since she’s also beautiful! (And other people say so on a regular basis, so I’m not just being a “sappy owner” )
She licks me like a dog, nickers to me, puts her head in my lap, and is just so very loving and expressive, as well as gentle. I think mares have that quality anyway (the sweet ones), and are quick to bond with the humans who love them–I find it SO easy to mush all over her and kiss her face…I really do just love her to death. (Which helps on those rare occasions when she is exasperating! ) She is an alpha mare all the way, and hates ALL other horses (except for her one best friend), considering them “not worthy to breathe the same air as the Queen”; however, she is sweet to all humans, so she’s truly an anomaly. (And it’s really hard to get mad at her for her bossy ways, since she never behaves that way with homo sapiens…) Anyway, definitely count me in: once you have a good mare, it’s hard to want to go back to the geldings!

Well after yesterday with my boy, I think I’ll bring an older, more experienced mare if we go out together…

My one in a million girl
Here’s my other girl. My “rescue” mare who is the world’s most perfect babysitter/husband horse/4 wheeler. Her “after” picture

Colours932, the picture of Lacy and Colours in their blankies looking at you … I’d like to use that in my program, if it’s ok with you?

Yes, that’s fine with me! I love that pic!

Ooh, count me in!! I always had geldings prior to a few months ago and always swore I’d never own a mare, but my little one (coming 3-year old) has just absolutely stolen my heart. Consider me a convert! Her personality and way she seems so keyed into the every little detail have completely won me over.

Two girls here - Flower (Morgan) and Quin (OTTB)!!

Mares Rool!

Oh Me me me…

(OMGiH I loff my Mare)x3

I’ve got Star and Dar (Indara) who are both goofy mutts, and then Toast, my CANTER OTTB.

No pictures of Star the pony, but here’s Dar’s album… (Ignore the “confo” shots with the sweat marks… um, I take advantage of a photographer when I can get one!)

Here’s Dar! She’s the cutest. She loffs me and I loff her, but we don’t loff it when I ride her, nope. http://photobucket.com/albums/v638/Indara/

And here’s the one photo of Toast I have on the computer, her Canter photo. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v17/RegentLion/TrickyGal.jpg
