mmmmmm when a gray is still gray
So, the barn ended up closing today, so we didn’t get to play, but I did find this picture of my late mare I had forgotten about (the pic, not the horse). The second horse is my mom’s late gelding and this pic pretty much sums up his opinion of winter
This one was actually my christmas card this year (the “slight chance of a flurry” briefly got serious):
January 2016 Snowzilla:
(tried to lead the mini donk out in the path made by the horses and he got totally stuck)
(yep, it snowed all the way up to the top of the lower Dutch doors)
January 2019:
December 2009 with my now-25-year-old retired GP dressage horse:
not my horse or photo but this one always interested me just by the ingenuity of some people
but it does snow like this here
this is the photo my horses always show me
Kristina in the snow, 2016. He loves galloping in snow. Kristina learned to ride on him, is training on 3rd level
Cynthia and friend at a skijoring clinic, 2010. He’s really good at focusing on the camera.
He’s retired from riding now. 27 years old, doesn’t look or act his age. Still a bundle of energy. Pleasant memories.
The BO asks: “Are you ready for breakfast?”

Breakfast Video 1-2021
Does anyone else remember the video of the pony/mini that was running in the snow around the barn and repeatedly falling down and bouncing back up?
It was here a few years ago but I don’t know where to look for it.
Well, 2DogsFarm. I hope you learned your lesson to read the care and cleaning labels on your horses. I mean, you left one out in the snow and look how much he shrunk!
Psssst!
Legally I am only zoned for 2 “Large Animals”.
I tell people that’s why they’re all bays

My first Winter on the farm I did that bareback ride in the pasture on my 20-something TB.
SOB politely cantered down one way… then BUCKED!! the whole way back to the gate.
I learned that polarfleece sweatpants + horsehair = superglue.
My neighbors learned some new words that day
We got really nasty wet snow yesterday that turned to sleet and rain overnight. Now it’s all just slush. Zoom in on the eyelashes in the head shot! I felt really sorry for him.
Of course he’s ready for breakfast! He’s starving!!
He tries to pull a fast one on the barn owner.
“Hey! Where’s my breakfast! You closed the back door! I’m stuck in this stall! I can’t go outside and meditate in the snow! When are you going to give me my breakfast?”
