I don’t know what other professionals can do about a bad apple other than not do business with her, warn others in the industry, and shun her at shows. They can’t prevent her from running a barn or showing. They can’t report her just for being a sh*thead, they have to catch her doing something improper at a show and then it’s in the hands of the stewards.
Other pros don’t care because they prioritize winning/money over ethics and if getting in bed with dogs means waking up with fleas, they’ll deal with the fleas.
We have PLENTY of bad apples in the hunter world, but there’s nothing the GOOD trainers can really do about it but steer clear.

Okay, well I read it. And I am disgusted that this EDH person is representing The sport of eventing.
I am even more disgusted that events and organizations are still turning a blind eye to her behavior.
Thank you stormy and the other people who were brave enough to come forward. But she will continue to operate as long as she can find more people who do not know much to board with her, and event organizers allow her to continue to frequent their events. She can be stopped. But like someone said many many posts back, it is up to individuals to record and report everything that they see and hear. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
I am glad I am not doing horses anymore. But I will tell you this, if I was a spectator at an event and saw anything this woman has done, I would be all over it to report her. She gets the upper hand because people are afraid to make waves.
She is not a God, she is a disgrace to the horse world. I sure hope she does not have a horse going to Kentucky next month.

I bet that Obie will be entered. I am not close to the situation, but based on past behavior, I don’t think there is anything that would keep her away as long as her 4* horse is still qualified.

Some posters mentioned that it would not be beneficial to take this to small claims since Stormy doesn’t want money (and EDH has none to give). But couldn’t she press charges on [edit]or any of the other items that she has tangible evidence for? It’s heartbreaking to think that nothing can be done to touch this woman.

Since this thread has been resurrected, did anyone else notice that EDH’s name disappeared off the Area V list of ICP instructors? Maybe it’s just me, but I know it was there before.

Instructor Certification Program. The eventing world has actually done a reasonable job of attempting to certify instructors.

She is not listed on the USEA site either. We are in a new year now - perhaps she didn’t satisfy a continuing education requirement?
