My horrible experiences with Texas horse trainer/instructor Ellen Doughty-Hume

First they came for the BUA, and I didn’t speak out because those people are cray cray.
Then they came for the Parelli peeps and I kept quiet because I don’t like games.
Then they came for Stormy and I said, “Oh hell no because she’s my shero and I flove her to bits so you better back yourself right up before I pull out my lunge line and you get LTDed like a hunter pony at Medal Finals.”

OK, I love the idea of the shirt. But please, please put a comma in it. (Kick On, Stormy!")
Otherwise, you’re asking people to kick ON her. Which we don’t want

I seriously loff eventers…

Thank you, IH. Well said, you.

And then to follow up with this:

" Also the only industry of the three where it appears people are doing an honest day’s work and delivering the full value of all promised services"

:applause:

Kick on, Stormy. So many people admire you and are pulling for you.

At mine, would pay me to put my clothes back on…

And what, please is an “eventing PTB”?

I would hazard a guess that it is “eventing powers that be”.

Didn’t EAB, aka Spirithorse, aka Rev. Buck sue COTH? He lost.

I believe you are correct.

Not terribly long ago, someone posted a saintly looking pony they were trying to re-home on Facebook. EDH posted on the thread that she was interested, so I messaged the owner and say, “Hey, I’m sorry to butt in, but just do your homework and maybe a google search before you make a decision on where your sweet pony goes.”. The owner messaged me back that she had worked for EDH previously and no, her pony would not be going there. That says a lot to me, not even counting the horrible first-hand experience that Fairweather had with her.

Double post

Look at the link. You’re really late the discussion and it’s advanced well past people just saying “I heard she has a bad reputation.”

o have contacted a friend of mine who used to ride with ellen. apparently there’s just a lot of questionable things at this barn. horses aren’t getting fed, ellen is making decisions that a vet should make, not her (as we a,ready know). this persons horse seemed a little off, and so she asked ellen if he was looking off. ellen said “he just looks a little sore, just ride him through it.” he horse ended up being terribly lame and on stall rest for a while. i just don’t understand while anyone who has seen this thread is still ridng at this barn.

Ehh, I dunno – corroboration is rarely a bad thing, I would hope, even with the length of the thread.

I’m not saying it’s not. I’m just saying it’s weird to show up on a 55 page long thread from 2016 and not in your post somehow acknowledge that OBVIOUS long discussion that occurred between the first post and yours. There’s sort of a general internet expectation that you read threads at least a little before posting on them or at least ACKNOWLEDGE that you didn’t wade through. Nothing wrong with sharing experiences! I just found the tone a little weird. This is a long @ss, old thread to show up and not really read at all before posting.

I had to log in JUST to say thank you for posting this link. I needed that laugh.

 oh the flashback memories of great COTH threads of the past …

This thread is definitely destined for the COTH Hall of Fame of threads. Someday when the whole story is over … well, if it ever is.
