My horrible experiences with Texas horse trainer/instructor Ellen Doughty-Hume

The title is “Full Disclosure” and the author is listed as Stormy Daniels.

Despite the eye-grabbing title, it is a personal autobiography and not political (imo).

It is also on Audible as an audiobook, for those (like me) who are getting their reading done via audio.

Stormy’s real name is Stephanie Clifford. She does not conceal this, it is just that her stage name has taken precedence in the public mind. Partly due to the sensationalistic tendencies of journalists and the media generally.

I have seen her ride cross-country and she is good. It is too bad that she doesn’t feel it is a good idea to continue eventing just now. Hopefully that changes for her at some point in the future.

She was on Michael Cohen’s Mea Culpa podcast this last week and discussed the affect that the press reading her true identity had on her riding, enjoying her barn community, her children, etc.

Probably less that they have her real identity – that was never a secret – but the way they responded to having her real identity.

Her ‘real identity’ wasn’t part of her public presence. Until the media/journalists made it so.

I did not get through the whole thread. Does she still have horses? And does she still have the farm that she was talking about building at the start of the thread?

Here’s her mugshot . She was sentenced in May of 2022 and her probation goes until 2034! Wonder how many of the parents of those kids know this? I looked at her facility and it was filthy!! She gives the entire industry a bad name!

She’s also a drunk and was sentenced in May of 2022 to two years probation for her second offense. She’s a filthy pig at her barn. The horses are uptight and a ball of nerves. I can’t believe she’s still allowed to take part with a current probation . Do the parents know? Her dogs are at the shows and they are dirty and not kept on a leash. [Edit] She has the worst reputation of any trainer I’ve ever known snd ive been around this for a while circa 2004!
She is having a relationship with a older man . It wasn’t her father and it wasn’t the first time! Again it’s a common reoccurring theme and everyone knows she’s trouble!

I am told EDH is currently under investigation by Safe Sport . I don’t know what the charges are but they are serious. If you or anyone has any information please contact Safesport directly . This woman needs to be banned before a child or horse is injured again .

Not sure. But I know someone who knows someone and they say it is a fact she is being investigated by Safesport for several reasons I can’t disclose.
So if you know anything or have witnessed anything you may want to give them a call.
She needs to be banned from this sport once and for all.

Even if the charges are serious, they don’t seem to be of a high enough caliber to get her suspended immediately. As has happened with several others while their cases were being investigated.

I know more than one horse trials organizer who would give a great deal to be allowed to ban her entries. Those of her students as well, no animosity to them, but she comes with them.

But whatever nuisance she is on the day, it’s not enough to get her banned, or even suspended, apparently. By the USEA or by Safe Sport. It will be interesting to see what Safe Sport does.

I know more than one horse trials organizer who would give a great deal to be allowed to ban her entries. Those of her students as well, no animosity to them, but she comes with them.

Is there nothing in the rules that allows for this? I looked through our EC rules and it seems an organizer has the right to refuse an entry under certain circumstances. This is out of our rulebook:

To refuse an entry – In addition to entries of persons suspended or expelled
from the federation, a recognized competition may refuse any entry of an
exhibitor, rider, owner, agent, trainer or coach who has shown objectionable
attitude or behaviour at a Recognized competition which management is able
to substantiate. At National Championships, the Organizer may not refuse a
qualified entry.

ETA - I realize it may be difficult to do this for political reasons, and I’m not sure it’s ever used, but the possibility is there (in Canada)
