Also luckily I don’t have kids anywhere near this lady or “Matt”. I didn’t know he was running her business into the ground, until mentioned earlier here.
But if I did have kids at her barn , I’d really hope someone would share this page. These parents deserve to know what is going on and who their kids are around.
They can easily look up the Public record sites for Herbert Matthew Sebanc using their address… people really need to do this research .

We removed some recent posts (and responses to them) that appear to be unsubstantiated and/or personal in nature.
I do think that if the boyfriend is a convicted felon and is regularly present around the barn, that might be relevant to the topic at hand.
Her social media posts of him and the dogs are definitely not, nor is there anything inherently bad about them.
It took me not even a few minutes to find red flags in his personal history and business records, enough to make you think he’s someone to be wary of. I suspect the poster from earlier is one of the people he allegedly scammed with his oil/gas businesses or someone tied to that group or they have some other axe to grind with him. Just one more reason to stay far away from EDH, if she’s (literally) in bed with such a guy and he’s hanging around the place.
The one thing I can share of watching all this from a distance, including interactions between Ellen and sundry individuals and organizations, many alluded to in places in this thread, is that, whatever are the specific issues, the scale of constant issues never changes.
Imo, should not be expected to change, simply based on history.
She has operated this way for as long as I’ve been aware of her, over 10 years. Heard stories going back further than that. There have been many public complaints about her for everything imaginable, to risky training and lesson methods, to not calling a vet for horses in her care who are in need, to unvaccinated unruly dogs, to employee complaints, to … etc. & so on. In this thread and elsewhere.
By many people, from different aspects of her life, who are not affiliated or acquaintances in any way (that is, no collusion effort to discredit her). There have been issues with authority organizations from civic to horse-related. Occasionally she does get in some degree of trouble for something.
But carries on regardless, somehow. New chapter, same story. Over and over. Endlessly.
Note that the first post in this thread was in 2016. And EDH had a long history among horse peeps well, well before that.
If she has been at the same facility for several years that actually is a change. Before this one, her residency at any barn always seemed to be terminated much, much sooner.
See this I can get behind. An unemotional, impersonal “hey this is worth checking on if you have any plans to interact with EDH” is totally relevant.
It was the poster leading with a bs personal ick (disliking the totally benign social media posts + the boyfriend’s potential past employment as as dancer) and THEN looking for actual red flags that made the whole thing come off poorly. That plus the anger and misdirected responses to multiple long standing posters here on the board.
If you’re going to add fuel to this fire, make it relevant, otherwise all it does is muddy the waters and discredit the complaints.
Speaking as a personal client of EDH and someone with children who have spent a lot of time at her barn, I will no longer allow my kids to be there without me on site. Her boyfriend absolutely IS relevant to the conversation as no parent in their right mind would willingly allow their children to be around such scum if they knew all these details. He IS a convicted felon and plead guilty to distributing/selling drugs in “drug free zones” which are schools, playgrounds, universities, etc. When 90% of your business revolves around CHILDREN, that ain’t nuthin.
I am also privy to some info about a convicted pedophile that worked for her a few years back… Not surprisingly, she doesn’t background check any of her employees and not long after this guy started working for her, he suddenly disappeared and didn’t return calls. She later found out that he was arrested and sent back to prison for violating the terms of his LIFELONG parole (obviously, seeing as how he is a convicted pedophile, he is not allowed to be anywhere near children). She tried rehiring him back just recently but several of the parents at the barn who found out caused a stink and now supposedly he is working at their personal home farm instead. So she may not have known he was a convicted pedophile when she originally hired him (still, shame on her for not vetting her employees), but she knows now and STILL wanted to rehire him and bring him to her place of business around lots of children of all ages. Of course she is trying to play it off by saying “it’s not what you think… it was a misunderstanding…” but if you look the guy up you can find him on the nationwide registered sex offender website stating 3rd degree sexual assault with a 14 year old WHEN HE WAS 30. Anybody buying that line of BS should have their head examined.
So not only is it about the safety of the horses (which mind you are NOT safe, everything I’ve read throughout this post is indeed factual and true - including the most recent incident where EDH admits via text message ((PROOF)) that her boyfriend Matt left the gate open and resulted in several horses getting out in the middle of the night running up and down the highway, chased by the police, knocking over street signs, and multiple injuries to clients horses. I know of 4 incidences in the past 3 months that the horses have gotten out overnight because of her negligence.), but most importantly, the children are not safe! The fact that hiring a convicted pedophile just to save money is more important to her than the safety of the children she claims she loves so much is what did it for me.
Why do you let your children go there at all?

You live and learn. It was convenient and honestly things weren’t too bad until her boyfriend showed up and took over. I also didn’t know most of these “minor” details until recently when I started digging further. She had some really great staff for over a year! Must have been a record for her. I trusted the ladies that worked there with my children and still do. But once her boyfriend came into the picture he pushed out all of her great staff (who were women btw) and replaced them with men. Nothing wrong with men, but these aren’t vetted and good stand up citizens and they are around our children. One of the regular workers is his nephew and openly admits to doing lines of coke with Matt on the regular. Another worker has on more than one occasion screamed at paying clients. Now you all can come at me for “hearsay” but I’ve seen and heard the accusations I am making first-hand. When you google Matt’s name you can even find a record of him being arrested for domestic violence. I’m sorry, I’m all for people getting their life together (though he definitely does not have his life together and regularly speaks jibberish and acts like he’s completely strung out) and I’m not trying to be judgmental, but when we are talking about the safety of our children, history IS relevant.
Right… But I guess I was not clear, if you know the place is so horrible (which I agree it is horrible), why are your kids going there at all anymore, was what I was wondering? Not wondering why the boyfriend and the workers are horrible.
I can not imagine giving this person one more cent of my money after learning the things you say about them.
I notice the mods are on this so we will see, but I don’t know why someone would say all that and let their kids ride there still. Also wondering if two of these posters are the same?
For clarity, this is an accurate representation of why this thread was recently moderated the way it was.
Yes, users can share information related to individuals involved with the program/farm, as they relate to the operation of the business, but unsubstantiated gossip about personal lives is generally not appropriate.
There is no indication that any of the long-standing users on the site are posting under multiple accounts, so that line of accusation can be dropped.
And no IP overlap of new posters either. It’s reasonable to think that there may have been recent issues that spurred a group of parents to come here to share their experiences and opinions after learning of this discussion.
I completely get where you are coming from and trust me, I hate it myself. But they have a lot of friends up there so it’s not easy to just rip them out and break their hearts. What I can promise you is their time EDH’s barn is/was 100% supervised BY ME at all times.
Also, for all the nay-sayers who want to be judgy about why we might (and I never actually said we were still clients there) still be at her barn, most of this info has only come into the light within the last week, maybe two max. How about we stay on track about the issue at hand.
I was in Texas for that historic hailstorm. Our horses were kept inside. Every car parked outside a garage had to have windshields replaced; there was a delay because the supply of new windshields was not adequate to the demand. I had just closed on a house and thank god I had the homeowners’ insurance in place; the roof and gutters were a total loss. Hailstones the size of grapefruits.
