New Article on Cesar Parra Controversy

Wait, so the German Federation can sanction the horse dealers right away, but not the ones beating the snot out of the horses? What?

Horse dealers based in Germany, trainer beating the snot out of the horses based in America? That could be the problem.

Am I correct in thinking that Parra cannot leave the country since he is now under investigation by the FBI?

I’m not sure about that in an absolute sense, but its quite possible they could decide to take his passport.
Wow this gets uglier by the day.

I wa so struck by its beautiful posture, kind face and then seeing panic set in. What an incredibly beautiful horse.

Same. It had such presence for being in such a horrific situation. Bless it’s poor heart.

Oh and I want to come back to this thread and find the posters who support CP and commented here. How could you do that seeing these videos. It’s like supporting Jeffrey Epstein. Sick.

And somehow people here support the use of attaching lines or bungees to their feet? Again sick. I cannot imagine doing that to a horse.

After all the years of abuse by Parra, it is satisfying to see that maybe, just maybe, this time he cannnot threaten/bully his way out of the allegations. All of these horses deserve justice and hopefully that time is NOW.

When I look at that image, instead of a fit fractious horse, I wonder what may have been done to that horse that it is reacting so badly

I didn’t see anyone doing either…I think people have gotten pretty confused on this thread.

I haven’t seen anyone supporting Parra since this thread was revived.

And no one supporting the use of bungies or stretchies, just a few people who know what they are from the saddle seat world explaining to the rest of us.

A couple of people downplayed it early on until they saw more video etc, no one supported him at all.

Ok I misunderstood. Good to know.

I’d like to find out more about that horse and follow his/her showing. If I won the lotto, try to buy him/her. Tries very hard and gets punished for it.

If you know of anyone that has worked with Parra on a visa, or if you have personal knowledge about the abuse(s) of a working student at Parra’s, please complete/forward this FBI Tip Link:

Scroll up to the very top of this thread, when the allegations came out 10 years ago and you will see some posters were indeed dismissive at best (supportive at worst, depending on your definition of support I guess) at the time. Here’s a screen shot as an example.

Yes - 10 years ago - I think that ship has well sailed though with the newest allegations and video.

No worries - I think the tone here is hard to understand sometimes!

10 years ago there were no videos except a video of after the horse flipped over. If there had been a video of the entire event as described, tight side reins, beating horse, I think people would have had different opinions. I was just on a FB page and the people there called very loose side reins abusive and unatural so it can be hard to determine based on people’s opinions. I think the recent videos are inexcusable.

Isn’t that person an actual Dressage judge?
