A Patterdale terrier, a breed from Patterdale in the Lake District in Cumbria, UK. Wee terriers, descended from other UK terriers such as Borders in the late 19th/early 20th century by a master of the local hunt.
Guuuurl, of course you know me, just had to jog your memory.
There was a group of us who used to post Allllllllllllll the time on COTH. It was So much fun. Joliesmom, suzy, velvet, sillyhorse joined in…these are just to name a few.
My sister shows… I mean competes… or “displays”… Jacks. I’ve gone to watch her and her dogs and my, it’s quite a robust adventure teetering on abject chaos. And there’s always a great deal of noise (mostly but not entirely from the Jacks).
So you must be of a certain character to have those dogs. A fine character, as a matter of fact, who’s fond of finding joy in life. Huzzah!
YES!!! Goodness, it has been way too long!!!
It has! Let me know if you are ever going to be in Raleigh for a show and if life is not upside down I will swing by to say hi and catchup.
Hi back Maria!!!
So totally understand about the knowing more in your head than your body can do, that’s where I’m at, more so now I’m older, and it sucks massively
I have an absolutely wonderful horse at the minute and if I was still competitive I’d never be able to do him justice. But thankfully he’s as done with all that as I am. Just loving playing around together.
I live where dressage doesn’t exist and I’m not a smartass, but I can be terribly naughty
Thanks for the lovely welcome!
There are known for their love of killing anything that moves, brave enough to tackle badgers, will dig for ever and have an almost unbelievable inability to come back when called.
I can attest to all of this, as can my neighbours and their three lots of deceased chickens
She is the sweetest, loveliest, cuddly dog, loves everyone, but is basically a small, curly, cute, completely deaf to commands killing machine!
What a lovely thing to say! Thank you!
I missed the Raleigh Summer I & II last weekend - no babies to run anymore
Hi!! I’m too am a long time lurker who failed miserably to keep my hands off the keyboard when the Barisone threads started and I was also propositioned by the maestro himself. Lucky me! Just wanted to chime in and appreciate the passive aggressive threat posted to you regarding the Barison case. I find it humorous. Equally as humorous was the fishing expedition ( if you get my drift) regarding your knowledge of the maestro. Great reply!
I love your Padderdale and appreciate your sense of humor.
How do I get one in the US? ADORABLE! I want to rescue a mix breed terrier…
oh… so maybe I don’t want one… I do want a mixed terrier…
Hi @KurPlexed
Do you want to join me in a Karaoke chorus of “Suspicious Minds”??
I’m always up for a game of Top Trumps too!
So glad I’m not the only one, because honestly? Why on earth would I make that up??!! Bizarre!
It’s quite good fun when you’re new but already ‘know’ what some posters are like isn’t it!!
The wee black dug extends her love and a super waggy tailed thank you - as do I (minus the tail bit, but I am grinning)
@Danvers oh she really is the sweetest and most lovely dog with people, she adores everyone! But she can’t ever be trusted off lead sadly.
She (like all my dogs over the years bar the aberration of a BT pup) is a rescue and no amount of training (something I take pride in being good at!) can override those instincts. We’ve provided an environment that means she has as much freedom as possible to enjoy being her, but without the risk of meeting my neighbours shotgun
Karaoke khorus. (Sorry I had to lol) that sounds fun!!
Ya the thinly veiled attempt is funny and also rude imo but hey, what do I know?
NP was the strangest request I’ve ever received on FB. Luckily, my spidey senses (not that he takes much), told me this dude is whack!
Does she dig a lot? I’d imagine she does but I’m sure the wiggle butt more than makes up for it.
Lol at the Khorus……I thought about it too, but wasn’t going there, you know sensitivities and all that
Rude/Direct, take your pick I’m not offended either way!
Maybe @Jealoushe is jealous for not being speshul enough to get a request from the Maestro What say you Jealoushe?
PS yes she digs, and digs. We’ve got a bit of garden left wild for her to entertain herself in, although she taught the pup to join in
I miss the velvet, suzy, egontoast days with you. And the long posts from slc, and the thoughtful advice from IdeaYoda. The good old days. I rarely posted in those waters, but I was an avid reader and fan.
She looks so proud of herself!
And let’s not forget Willem and Coreen.
