New England CANTER cuties 09 - very fun Salty's Actor update! (post #133)

Showcase is tomorrow :). CBT is still here as of right now (yes we are still at the track finalizing things for tomorrow ). Thankfully we only had a few very light showers at the track! Tomorrow calls for decent weather!

Lots of NICE horses will be available!

Wow, Messed up on the date. I can go tomorrow!!! Looking for a small mare or gelding.
GemsaGem or FrenchMistress which should come home with me??

Gemsagem - sold this week but CBT is still available :).

Bump!
Who’s gonna be there this morning?? Even more horses listed last night, and its going to be lovely weather!

So happy to see that CBT FrenchMistress, Silk Diamond, and areyouflirtingwith me all were sold!

A LOT of horses sold  but there are still plenty more!! we’ll be checking in this coming weekend and finding out who found homes. But yes there are plenty more that need homes :). The track closes November 7th so if you are interested in any on the site, I suggest you call sooner rather than later :)!!

Areyouflirtingwithme had me drooling, she was in the imaginary barn I fill before each Powerball drawing. SUCH an elegant mare. I would love to know where she ends up.

Those who are in the know already know this  , but to bring this thread full circle: I went on a mission of mercy and picked up Salty’s Actor myself. This poor baby has fallen quite a ways from where he was when I met him two years ago. I sure as heck don’t need another horse, but I couldn’t turn my back on him.

To avoid any confusion with my little Salty’s Actress, he will go by the barn name of “Cooper” (as in Gary ).

And with that, Cooper’s recuperation begins. Don’t worry, the farrier is coming tomorrow (and not a moment too soon! )

Good for you Barnfairy!
He is going to look so different in 6 months!

Quick Cooper update:

Farrier came out today and pulled off those god awful plates. He said Coop’s hoof quality is actually good, and though he’ll always have a tendency to have flat feet, the heels will improve over time with correct trims (just as I’ve seen with my others, including his almost-sister Salty’s Actress.)

Last night I contacted one of Cooper’s former trainers, the one Cooper was with when I met him two years ago, and who also had Salty girl. Not only did he get in touch with one of the track vets about the situation, but he took the time to drive all the way to my house and drop off some supplements to help get Cooper back on his feet again! How amazing is that?! I wish everyone cared as much as he does.

Cooper’s ulcers have caught up with him and he was feeling a little crummy today, but he remembers what carrots are! He also agreed to eat his alfalfa pellets as long as I stayed sitting down next to him.

Wendy you are the best!!! He’s going to look like a different horse in no time flat

For someone looking for a project, Sobrino needs a home asap!
He’s nicely bred, and wicked cute - has a bit white blaze, and looks like he’d be really fun for someone. He’s bred nicely enough to perhaps put a performance record on and stand as a stud, or he’d make a wonderful gelding!

Listing info:
Trainer owned Colt
Bay, 15.2 hands, 5 Years Old
“Sobrino” is a flashy guy! This playful and spunky son of Victory Gallop has personality for miles, and lots of flash for the show ring. Sound but slow, his solid built should help him transition well into any discipline. Trainer says that he is not studdish at all, and the volunteers were all taken by his cute face and fun attitude.

Price: $500

Call Lorita - 603-670-8192

The link for his picture is currently broken, but if you’re interested, I’m sure Lorita could send a picture - he’s got to move ASAP :yes:

Sobrino’s picture link is back up! Flashy. As an aside, because I adore the Fappiano line, I made a point of visiting both Victory Gallop and his sire Cryptoclearance while in KY. Athletic, nice brains too.

There are new pictures for Fongtastic. Gorgeous!

I’d love to see Prado Turbo Power find a home - with 59 starts, he’s certainly earned some R&R

Same goes for Volcanic Force - he ran in the MassCap last year

Two classy geldings who would be a wonderful addition to anyone’s barn.

I love love love Fongtastic. Has anyone met him in person?

I think I had money on Volcanic Force in the MassCap! (He didn’t get up to show, unfortunately for me.)

Hi all-

Just an FYI, CANTER volunteers will be at the track BOTH Saturday and Sunday this weekend. So, if anyone is interested in purchasing a horse, we’re happy to help you either day.

Please note that Sunday is dark at the track, so it is best to get there early in the am before everyone jets for the day.

Wouldl it be possible to get a horse vetted if you found one Sat/Sun and wanted to take it home?

I would think Saturday would be more possible than sunday - being a race day the vets will be there anyway. But it’s possible they would be around Sunday if you talked to them first… but that’s just a guess.

You can get them vetted - Saturday is tough as it is race day so they are busy w/ all the entries. Best thing to do is call them if there is a horse you like and find out when they could do a PPE. They are typically very good at doing them as soon as possible.

We will be there Saturday and Sunday to show potential buyers around so feel free to come if you can!

As of today, there are 65 horses needing homes…well, earlier today if I read that email right…and that figure includes non-canter horses.
