New “Forage Only” Complete Feed

I soak too, I’d never tell someone not to. But if you’re feeding pellets to a horse who isn’t eating soaked food now, it looks like there’s no need to soak these - small, soft. I soak so powders can be mixed in, no other reason. I raised my 2 foals to eat soaked meals for that reason, and then any other benefits are just nice by-products.

The fatties don’t get enough food for any water to make a difference, we’re talking maybe 2c. The 33yo used to get the same, but the last couple years decided soaked food is gross. And heck, even if he liked it, he eats so slowly it would take him 2 hours to finish his meals LOL

Soaking is never an inherent requirement. It’s a requirement based on a set of circumstances

The only reason I’m soaking pellets for my oldie right now is because they are 3/8 size, like halfway between a regular alfalfa pellet and a cattle cube. It’s just easier for him to chew them if they’re soaked. I give a handful of the same to each of my younger mares, and they can chew the bigger pellets just fine. So those really small ones look like winners!

I saw it on my tsc site too, but the shipping per bag was more than the product! Guess I’m waiting for they to carry it in store!

Calling or doing it in person, you can have your TSC order it to be delivered to the store without any extra fee. The Unbeetable FB page (maybe it was an ad) has made a point to state this. Shipping to the stores who will be carrying it onsite began maybe a week or so ago. Their FB presence is really responsive if you want to chat with them

They have free shipping over $50, so if you ordered 2 bags (or 1 bag with anything else you needed) it would be free. I double checked and the feed did seem to qualify.

I tried this, and its adding $129.99 shipping to the store. Guess I will have to go in and request it.

I wonder if you call your local store if they will order it that way?

Bizarre! It didn’t for me. I wonder if its a regional issue?

Yikes! That didn’t happen for me, either.

Shipping was free for me as well. But I’m also a Neighbor’s Club member. Maybe that’s the difference?

Call the store, make sure they have the right sku, and you shouldn’t have that ridiculous shipping

Thank you for the visual!

Thanks for the reminder!

I just ordered two bags. I normally fill Charlie’s auto feeder with hay pellets to dispense overnight so he doesn’t have an empty stomach. Sometimes the hay pellets are too long and I have to break them up so they won’t jam up the auto feeder. I like that the Unbeetable is so much smaller!

Charlie also seems to prefer beet pulp vs hay pellets (it’s a close call, let’s be real), so the mix might be interesting. Per bag it’s a little more than just hay pellets, but not by much so I’m going to swap that out and leave well enough alone with his beet pulp mash.

What does the tag say is in it? I understand it has beet pulp in it too, but what else?

@trubandloki Its alfalfa, beet pulp, and flax oil.

I also had the huge shipping :frowning: Question, I would need to add a ration balancer so would I discontinue Renew Gold. Is anyone adding extra oil for fat?

I just called my TSC. If I order online and even if I have them deliver to the TSC, it shows $10 shipping. However, if I order in the store, then they will waive the shipping.

Huh. I was able to ship two bags directly to my house for free. Wonder if it’s a regional thing.

I just tried the ship to store option for my local Tractor supply and for two bags it wanted to add $14.98 as a ship to store fee, but the next line item gives a discount for that same amount.

Same, but shipping directly to me. My tax is less than yours, so the overall total is less.

I was choosing in store pick-up as a way to encourage them to get this product in this store when it comes time to decide where to stock it, etc.

And, I have to go there for some other stuff too.
