Well I’ll be dipped in snuff! I must have missed the # thing earlier. So sorry for making you repeat yourself!

I’ve never heard this expression before and I LOVE IT!

I’m using Firefox on a laptop and I’m not having any issues.
I’m not a high tech person but I’m slowly figuring things out. There are many options for getting around on the forums. I’ve found the ones that work best for me. I don’t like the slider thing either so I don’t use it much.

Thanks for the FAQ Simke, and thanks for your time and effort @Moderator_1 your dedication (and your patience) is impressive.

Huh, this is interesting!

I wasn’t seeing the green box. See like this? No green box!

BUT when I expand the reply window up PAST the thread slider and cover it up…

LOOK! There it is!

So you only get the green box when you don’t have the slider available when you’re replying?

And we have a winner! Exactly.
I think that is one of the pluses here, it allows people to navigate how they want to.
(I too am not a fan of the slide bar, so I don’t use it.)

I rarely use it, mostly click on the bottom suggestions or the upper big C to navigate.

Each one will find their own way and there sure are many options to pick from.

Initially we reported that when editing, it took a while for the edit to show on the post.

Right now, when editing, right after clicking on go, before eyes can raise to see if it is there, well, it is, faster than we can look up!

Someone did well there, can’t post edits any faster than that, thanks!

Mine seem to take a minute to show up if I use the edit, it’s not horrible, but it is a good 30 seconds or more as of today.

ETA: testing to see how fast this is.

38 seconds that time.

How strange, that is how mine was until yesterday?

Wonder why is so quick now, but not for others?

Edit to try again …

Edit again, appeared instantaneously, in a split second!

Very curious.

@halt The developers played around with the timeline slider to make it look more like a typical scrollbar. What do y’all think?

The developers also added some shadowing around images to help differentiate screenshots.

That looks a lot better.

Weird. I see it in other screenshots, but not this. LOL

So weird. If I screenshot anywhere else with a leading line of text, it works. If I screenshot from this forum with a leading line of text, it treats it like text instead even though it’s a pic. The shadow on pics looks great though!

Should I not be “very vocal”? I’m not the only one complaining about the sliders / pages. Is this not the place where feedback should be given?

Is my feedback unwelcome?

It seems like it’s not, since most of the suggestions I’ve had have been utilized… (font weights, scroll bar tweaks).

I’m not resistant to change. I am resistant to accessibility nightmares. I appreciate the team is trying to make this a more pleasant experience for users.

I think that adjustment is an incredible improvement. Thank you :encouragement:

No at all, of course your feedback is welcome.

But things like the thread slider or lack of pages, which you’ve been very vocal about in your opposition, are intrinsic to the platform, and are not going to change. Continuing to provide very negative feedback about the mere existence of these elements is certainly an option, but since it’s been noted several times that they’re here to stay, it’s not clear what you’re hoping to achieve?

If you’d like some help working through the issues that you’re seeing, I would be more than happy to help, especially since we use the same browser, and I’m having a very different experience. Can you post some screen shots that show the missing title etc so mod1 and the devs can try to figure out what’s going on for you?

@halt I think the slider looks a lot better in its more traditional and simpler colors. Good suggestion!

Kind of sounds like my feedback isn’t welcome (to you), since you’re using adjectives and harping on one of the many comments I had about the shortcomings of the default roll-out.

We can voice our dislike of the lack of pages without there being hope for resolution. It’s important that all feedback is given, whether or not change can be immediately made. In the future, when COTH inevitably switches to a different platform, I’m optimistic it will return. :slightly_smiling_face:

@halt I think you are reacting weirdly to the conversation that is happening.

You are allowed to complain.
Like you have said, that is part of the purpose of the thread.

Others are allowed to say they like the features that you are complaining about, just like you are allowed to say you do not like them. That is not others diminishing your ability to complain or saying you are not allowed to complain. That is just others expressing their opinion.

I am willing to admit that I find some of your complaint style to be overly dramatic, which might be part of the reason you are getting responses directed at you, but I in no way think you should not be posting. I am simply adding my thought in why you are getting the responses you are getting.

And this post to you taught me a new feature. When I type the at symbol to tag now the pop-up with names shows up before I type the first letter. Here the list included all of the recent posters as options, including avatars for quick glance selection. Love this.

Edit to add - I am not having the same luck with edits showing up that Bluey discussed just a bit ago. They are showing up more quickly than they used to but my rough counting says it was close to 30 seconds before it updated the two letter change I did.

Edit to add2 - that edit to add paragraph look even longer to show up.

So I’m not the only one then. It’s about 30 seconds for small edits, longer for bigger ones for me.

Nice… I don’t see how, since I’ve deliberately excluded uses of emotional words in all of my posts. Maybe you are confusing me with one of the many posters that said they found the slidebar/pages/whatever “infuriating”. There’s 721 replies to this thread and a lot of posters expressing frustration with the various changes! Not just me.

I appreciate the work Moderator1 is doing and I’ve made sure to include that in nearly every “complaint” of mine. I would hope no one (except maybe the devs at Discourse  ) is taking my posts personally. My posts come from a place of trying to make this site more accessible to users, not ruffle anyone’s feathers.

I do have one final “How do I…?” question, maybe for the Moderator. I’m finding if I use the Hamburger to navigate, sometimes if I go to a specific forum (for instance, Horse Care), it will only show my started threads on that forum. I assume this is an unwitting toggle on my behalf - any idea how I am accidentally doing this? I can’t always replicate it. Sometimes it will show zero threads too, if I’ve visited it recently. I assume it’s parsing from the “latest” function, but I don’t see an option to view all threads on forum.
