New Forum Fun, Questions and Glitch Reports

Okay, so I can repeat this behavior by typing in the user name and not selecting it from the pop up list.

Like so:

I type in the username that I want to ignore (not actually adding you here, just for demonstration purposes  ) but I ignore the pop up list and donā€™t select the user name from it:

When I set the duration for the ignore, I get the error:

But if I select the name from the pop up list, the ignore is added as expected. See how thereā€™s a little ā€œxā€ after the user name now? Thatā€™s showing that itā€™s properly recognized.

Can you try adding your ignore and make sure youā€™re selecting the username from the pop up list?

Or, alternatively, you can use the user profile to set an ignore (if the user hasnā€™t made that private.) Click on the username in the thread to pop up the user card, then click the username on the user card to go to the profile. From there, click where it says ā€œnormalā€ to show the mute/ignore options.

Does that help?

i go into IGNORE and into the user name and do not get a selection guide/no popUp listā€¦even if i put in a first letter. So there is not one with an X.
What am i doing wrong ?

Can you describe how youā€™re putting in the user name? Typing it in, copy/paste?

I get the pop up list with the first letter, and then it narrows down with each additional letter. Iā€™m testing in chrome, so not sure why weā€™re having a different experience. Do you see the same thing if you try in a different browser?

Can you try adding the user via their profile instead (or have they hidden their profile)?

I see back in November that there was a question regarding the little statuses associated with post counts. Any update on if Iā€™m going to be a perpetual Greenie?

I did try viewing my profile via the desktop view to see if that made a difference, it didnā€™t as far as I can see.

I know itā€™s just a minor thing, but I am curious!

IIRC (and itā€™s been awhile, so I could be wrong!) @Moderator_1 can update that for you?

I will look into getting those user-editable again. In the meantime, I am happy to update yours (or anyone elseā€™s) to whatever youā€™d like. Just post your request here or send me a PM.

Thanks for the reminder!

@Moderator_1 wondering if the amazing behind the scenes people are still working on things like marking the original poster in the thread some how (so you can tell which posts are by the original poster as you read)?

I know everyone is busy.

I have to admit that theyā€™ve been a leeeeetle less responsive lately, as they are apparently bogged down with handling other tech issues not directly related to the Forums, but Iā€™ll check in and see what things are looking like.

Thanks for the gentle prod!

I am sure they are not just sitting there laughing at usā€¦ they fixed the big things and now are doing other important stuff. Thank you for prodding them.

I think this was already mentioned at some point, but I am still having a problem with the page jumping around a lot as it loads. The result is that I often click on something unintended as the screen shifts around on me.

The touchscreen is also very temperamental whenever I try to type anything.

This is on Safari with an iPhone.

Could it be your connection speed?
This is one issue Iā€™ve not ever had a problem with.
Im mostly on safari & iPhone, but also use chrome on both a tablet & laptop.

It only seems to happen on this site, so I donā€™t think it is related to the connection speed.
