New horse-help!!
And about the pics-my trainer does not allow photos of lessons. So no jump photos until tonight when I can use a computer.
??? Videos nowadays can be taken at night in undercover arenas. This does not upset any horses as no flashes. Videoing your lesson and watching it back is the third best way for you to learn. 1st is having an instructor. 2nd is using mirrors as you ride.

Well I am not fully entertained, not even One houseguest!

Pretty sure “full WBs” are a mix of a lot of different things. WB is not a breed, it’s a registry (save a select few). My “full WB” is half TB. Visually, she could pass as a well-bred QH or QH cross. My previous “full WB” was often mistaken for an Arabian. He had G-line Hanoverian (Grande) which is pretty heavy and the first TB was 5 generations back.

My point: nitpicking based on phenotype is probably not a strong argument.
No argument, was just commenting

I agree, many warmbloods can look very similar to quarter horses.

I want to recommend a Grand Prix trainer!

Cindyg, you bad, bad, girl.

New keyboard, please.

Maybe horse cannot be ridden much because of fistulous withers?

Wait, she never posted any pictures? :frowning:

Umm… I’ve had several glasses of wine and a long day at work. I could not be more ready.

Now wait, I did see photos…but none jumping or no video. We’re still waiting on those

fishjumper? More like sharkjumper, am I right?

Eh, she’s just a kid excited about her new horse and thinks it hung the moon. Which is great. I’m a 40 year old kid who thinks my horse did the same. Until he flops over a cross rail because I rode him bad. Then it’s all his fault and he’s an a-hole. But all other days he’s a could-be Grand Prix horse toting around an awful rider.

No, you’ve got it wrong.

She needs THIS Grand Prix trainer!

Aww, this thread has me all nostalgic! I rode an (ex) GP horse over a 4’6 course when I was 15. It is the highest I have ever jumped in my life.

The trainer who let me do this had a serious drug problem at the time (we found out later) and was acting pretty crazy during our lesson (I lessoned with a friend of mine that day)… I should have never been allowed to do it, but we survived and I even have it on VHS to prove it

So, my point being, crazy things happen!

I bought Nino in Oregon, where he was bred. I am not totally sure, but I believe he was bred at Cornerstone stables. His registered name is Pez Volante if you want to look it up.

I found a video- this is him about a week out of the pasture when he was for sale. He looks a lot better now, so I will post a picture if him now.
Just as an aside, pretty sure Cornerstone doesn’t have any kind of breeding program, so I doubt your horse came from Linda originally. He’s cute though!

I think that that is a picture of Taylor Cobb, her dad is Greg Cobb and that looks like Central Oregon which is where Greg Cobb has his place.

OP- Congrats on the new horse. He’s very cute, and I am sure you are so excited. And you should be! Have fun with him.

Yah. I moved from Bend Oregon, and hopefully the pics can be up soon.
