New OTTB mare with intense anger under saddle...

Thank you for the suggestion! I may look into switching up her feed, she was on Strategy when I bought her 2 months ago but I’ve never been a huge fan. The main reason I don’t think she has ulcers (at least not anymore after her ulcergard treatment) is because she is not a hard keeper by any means. I’ve had a ridiculously difficult keeper OTTB mare who did have ulcers. This one would likely stay fat on grass

Thank you all for your suggestions! I truly appreciate them! She decided to willy nilly jump a 5.5 foot fence in the middle of the night and then jump her way back over (3-4 jumps total based on fencing), broke the top board on her last jump, and caught her stifles on two screws so we’re patching her up over the next few weeks first…

Gotta give her credit, she IS athletic and has some major hops!

Must be feeling better to do that! You’ve got a leaper there.

Any updates on how she is post injections?

Sounded like my horse when I rode him in an ill-fitting saddle but not as intense probably because he’s a gelding. The only difference was that he was very back sore. After we fixed that issue he gradually with training became a dreamboat. Also maybe check her stifles? Stifle issues can be quite subtle and may not be detected easily by just looking for lameness.

Yes, has OP been able to address the KS that was diagnosed last fall? Were the injections effective or is she going to try the surgery?

As a side note, this stuff is expensive and if OP can’t afford it she still welcome on here, she wouldn’t be the only one, no shame involved here, we still support those who need a shoulder and a cyber hug.
