He looks great with his new 'do!
You have done a great job with him. He looks wonderful. Like a mini Belgian.
Alas, I need to spend time with the ones I have first! I haven’t even worked the big boys since November. Although yearlings don’t take up a ton of time once you’ve got the basics down, I have to resist the urge to help them all. My corral panels are all being used for stalls right now, so I don’t have the set up for one that isn’t halter broke yet.
He has been accused of being a Haflinger cross once or twice when he’s fat and hairy Realistically, he’s probably just a mix of the more commonly found breeds. If only those DNA tests were more accurate, it would be fun to see what’s in there!
That baby QH is cute! I hope someone snaps him up. If Fern accidentally finds himself on a trailer back to WA, I’ll happily snap him up
There are bids on the QH, so someone will get him… it used to be that they just offered the horses for a flat price but they’ve switched over to bidding with a buy-it-now option ($300, in this case). Currently the bid is $175, which is just sad, and technically I could move the panels from my unused 4th stall outside… but realistically I’ve got enough on my plate with the three that are still here and Bo being leased out. I’m still mulling over the possibility of selling or leasing out one of the others so that I can focus more on my riding goals.
Fern travels well but I’m familiar with how much it costs to ship a horse that far
and it’s not cheap!
Fern’s getting some time off after 15 rides while I work out some saddle fitting issues, but feel free to be entertained by this clip of the three musketeers coming up for lunch today
