New Rambo and Rhino Blankets

Lolol I was looking at them! The pro line looks fairly comparable to Rambo with the 1200 denier, three surcingle & v snap front?

The basic line at 600 denier isn’t even something I’d try, tbh. (800 in Busse gave me enough pause!) But the pro stuff? If I needed something else (which I definitely do not hahahaha) I’d consider it! It’s great to have another option with this front closure.

The lack of a 100g turnout is kinda a bummer.

Oh, here’s a link if anyone else wants to check them out!

How does the Lemieux sizing compare to horsewear? My mare wears 78” Rambo duo, 81” amigo bravo 200g blanket, and 78” weatherbeeta fly sheet.

He’s wearing an 81 LeMieux and an 81 Rambo Original in that photo. I’d say it’s a true 81. I’ve only tried the originals on this guy of the horseware line and 78 rhino wug that was comically small…

He does have an 81 weatherbeeta but it’s the wrong cut (it fit an old appendix really well). So I’m not much help here. But, I’d say it fits like an 81 should.

Thanks! My mare is an appendix and has fairly narrow shoulders (and thin delicate thoroughbred skin!) so I think I’ll try a 78 but maybe if I find a place with easy returns I might buy both sizes.
Thanks again

In this case, you’ll probably be ok with a 78 but I’m not 100% sure. The 78 Rambo I had was tight (wearable but not long term).

I thought I’d update. Jeffers sent me an email telling me they’re happy this has been resolved. I just can’t with these people. As I still have not received a refund, it has not been resolved as far as I’m concerned. I said as much.

Horseware is having another sale. Doesn’t appear that they’ve restocked anything in the Rambo line in an 81 that I’d been interested in. There is a 50g Supreme available in 81 but of course not at the sale price/color.

It isn’t hard to add darts in the neck to tighten it up. I did it by hand on a pony sheet in the aisle. 10-15 minutes of time. Still good after 2 years almost 3 years.
Amish or blanket repair person could easily do it.
I used a heavy duty clip on each side to figure out how much overlap I needed.
I used my machine for a Back on Track mesh sheet

Did Rambo discontinue the all-in-one? I liked those. Don’t see them at all so guessing so.

I think so. I believe that was another one sold overseas for a bit longer than marketed in the US, but I think it is discontinued.

I grabbed a Rambo Supreme 200g yesterday in an 81 but I suspect it sold out pretty quickly. It arrived this morning lol. But there weren’t a lot of options in 81.

I realize though I could have used another sheet… oh well…

@pompeiii there’s still time to grab a sheet!

Re Rambo Wugs specifically- do these run large, small or true to size? I found Rhino runs pretty true to size, if a tad smaller so I’ve sized up in those. Amigo Wugs seem to run larger. Unsure if I should try regular size or size up in a Rambo Wug.

@TWH_Girl I grabbed an amigo sheet. I just can’t spend $300 more on Rambos until Jeffers refunds me! We’ll see how the amigo fits. I wanted one with a neck since the one sheet I have with neck gave out today (not horseware), but he’ll just have to deal with a high neck instead. Options were limited.

IME, Rhino runs smaller/tighter. My horse could wear a 75 Rambo Wug (wears 75 in everything else too), but can’t wear a 75 Rhino Wug, it’d be too small.

My Duo from Jeffers is waterproof. That got tested the other day, so that’s nice. I can’t say I’ll buy from them again after watching what others are going through!

Using a leather repair kit with waxed thread, I managed to reattach my Amigo 1200D tail strap loop that ripped off in the first few weeks of use. I should not quit my day job.

Something is up because the same horse broke a coated bungee tail strap on a different brand new Amigo Wug last night. I think he is catching his hocks in the straps when rolling, either because he is rolling strangely or because the new Amigos fit a little longer than the old ones. I’d like to add loops for leg straps but that seems above my skill level. For now I am going to attach the tail straps using very weak zip ties, so hopefully those will break before anything expensive does…

Just doing a shout out on my year old Original just having demonstrated being waterproof in an all-out soaking, high wind pounding rain for hours. My ponies wanted out and it was a bone soaking 50 degrees. So they were out in sheets and hoods and happy to do it.

You always pull them off with one eye squinting hoping they are waterproof. YES!!!

Not Rambo, but Grundy’s brand new Smartpak Ultimate sheet’s waterproofing failed at the tail flap and just barely over her back. Going to give them a call tomorrow for a replacement. They’ve never let me down on honoring their warranty.

Yes- they are much longer than in the past. I’m not sure I like how they fit. Much too drappy for my liking.

That’s awesome! So glad to hear as I just ordered a Supreme solely bc I’m hoping it will be reliably waterproof. Fingers crossed I can stuff my big guy into it

Edited: Mistake here. I was comparing last years Supreme - heavy and plasticky to the Original which was light and perfect.
