New Rambo and Rhino Blankets

I may have to do this, although I have packed it up to ship back on Monday. I am wondering if the fact it’s a heavyweight with more ‘fluff’ makes it tighter, although her old beat-up one she’s currently wearing is a 78 Amigo wug,

Anyone need a Rambo Duo Force in 69", 72" or 87"? Jeffers has them on sale today (12 Days of Christmas Deal item) for $199.95. Says >5 ea in stock so sounds legit. Needed a 69" so rolled the dice…will see what arrives .

Ugh I’m almost tempted to try since I really don’t need one…
Why/how can they offer this at such an extreme discount? I can see having a small supply and doing a flash sale but this is more than 50% of the list price. Seems odd.

I’m guessing clearing out the less popular sizes plus indication of insane profit margins.

Last month I did take them up on an emailed offer for $234 for the first Duo Force I ordered…arrived as described and was so nice I just ordered two more (69 and went back for another 72). Too good to pass up for the price.

Is it still a good deal even if I don’t need it??

My excuse is these will be only the 2nd set of blankets for these horses…so will have the backups ready in the dead of winter. Get creative…you can probably think of a similar justification!

I almost want to buy one and sell it for a profit locally. And if I’m really lucky, maybe they will mistakenly send me a size I need.

Maybe if I order one of these I’ll finally get a complete 75" set :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I think Horseware has brought out a 2.0 on this model so I’m guessing they got overstocks of the older style.

Maybe that’s why it’s so cheap- you only get part of the set per order.

Right?? It’s like a grab bag

I suspect my other gelding could wear a 72 but I refuse to give Jeffers any more money no matter how good a deal…

I had this thought when that 75" popped back up as available the other day, lol.

Sanity prevailed.

Wait huh? Now the Duo Force that none of us can seem to get on our own orders is discounted more? Beware of that >5 stock showing. That’s what it said for 81 too when I ordered. 🫤

Maybe they got a lot of returns from their random shipping of whichever blanket someone grabbed first?

Well, my new Amigo has been in use for less than 2 weeks and the tail strap ripped off on one side. :rage: This horse does not play hard. All he did was roll. Thankfully I don’t throw things away so he’s wearing a 15-year-old Rambo that has some holes in the lining, until I can get it repaired. Now I do have to do that digging and see if Rambo will compensate me at all. I might be done with Rambos/Amigos after all, if this is now the quality standard.

I had a horse that broke a tail cord once a year or so because of the way she stood after lying down or rolling. Sometimes she’d go through a couple. It was just her thing. My new little filly has done it once now, too. I’d never had anything like that happen before that particular horse.

It looks like Amigo doesn’t use the same covered cord with clips on each end that Rambo has? Usually it was just a clip that would break, or sometimes the elastic in the cord itself would stretch and come apart. It sucks when the weak link is something that’s not easy to just replace :frowning:

Which Amigo series is this? I usually only buy the Amigo Bravo 12 or 12 Plus - though I did buy one of the cheaper 900D Amigo sheets in a pinch this year.

If you registered the purchase it should still be under warranty! I think you have 60-90 days to do that (with the big tag that comes on them) so you may still be in that window too. Hopefully they’ll replace it for you either way

after fighting Velcro on the hoods I would why they are not using Velcro to hold the snaps in place rather than sewing the snaps in place?

Just a general comment: I really like my Amigo Bravos and Rhinos, but I bought a SmartPak Ultimate sheet with the 10 year warranty. They’re pretty expensive (not Rambo expensive, but still) and lack the features I buy Horseware for - but that thing is STURDY and heavy duty. I know several people who have used the warranty and said it was super easy.

My Amigo Bravos have a tail strap with a single snap. But I have two Amigo Pony Pluses: one has the nice wipe clean cord with the double plastic snaps, but the other has a sewn on nylon tail strap that you can’t remove.
