I am going to admit it. I never knew this feature existed on the old forum. Now I want to go back and see it.
Email notifications aren’t working today. They were working fine yesterday, re-checked my settings and email notification button is on but I’m not getting any notifications
WMW, I had the same  response. I sorted by date and unsubscribed to everything from this year. Wasn’t a whole lot, only took a few minutes, and has stopped all of those “someone has said something about a subscribed thread” notifications.
Not the best solution, but a decent work around for now
I see that too. Thanks!
I resubmitted a long list of items this morning to make sure they were in the queue for review. On it was: incorrect time stamps, Today’s Posts search tab, read threads differentiation not working, Ignore not working, Search functionality and advanced search link, Jump To menu, user locations by posts, exclude OT forums from Latest Activity, full site access from mobile, member list, increased font size and a few others.
I have a question out right now re: photo attachments to make sure I’m on the same page as everyone at the main office, then I think that’s one click away from being activated properly.
I don’t know in what order and to what extent these will be addressed, and there are still more somewhat less-pressing items on my punch list. Just trying to keep ya’ll in the loop.
I’m going to poke around on vBulletin’s site later today and see if I can find out anything about dismissing notifications more efficiently.
Thanks!
Mod 1
Simkie, thanks, I’ll check that out
And I do like that the “last read” is per forum so I can visit one forum, click it as Read (Mark This Channel as Read or similar at the bottom of the forum topic list) while other forums remain ‘unread’ until I can get to them. Doesn’t bold/unbold the topic title the way it used to but at least the first unread button takes me where I thought it should
I don’t see my name in red anywhere, on any machine (iPad or iPhone, don’t remember about laptop, only visited once)
I do have a link to my profile in upper right in grey.
On mobile (at least for me) click “menu” all the way up in the upper left. Your name should be at the top of the pop out menu. The log out option is at the bottom of that pop out menu. I don’t see an “account settings” option on that menu, though. Perhaps you can’t manage that from mobile?
You are the best!! Thank you and the developer team!
Hopefully the mark all read starts working soon. It is driving me batty!
Even though I have the Eastern Time zone clicked my time is still incorrect…it says last past at 5:25PM today but its only 4:25 here so I know it’s off. How can I go about fixing that?
Just read your update - looks like it’s being looked into. Thanks!
Okay, I see my name there. Not in red, though, (which doesn’t matter), was just confused why I don’t seem to see what others see.
To get to account settings, your user name should be right below the title banner, all the way to the right, nest to Notifications and Messages. Click on it, and user settings is one of the options. I can adjust settings on iPad and iPhone throught that.
Mobile vs desktop
There are settings that you can access on your desktop via your name in red in the upper left hand corner that you can’t access via your screen name on the right–like email address. I don’t see a way to change your email addy, for example, if you’re mobile. I might be missing it, though!
@Louise did you get your post display order get fixed? I think you might be showing “latest activity” in a thread instead of “posts.” Try clicking the posts tab at the top of the thread, and see if that fixes it. If it does, but the fix doesn’t persist, there’s a setting in your profile to change between latest activity and posts.
Please, please, I’m begging you to fix the “ignore” feature.
Otherwise, I’m going to have to ask you to block me from Off Topic for my own sanity.
NSP, there is another option… just don’t go to the OT forum. Easy Peasy. You don’t have to click on a forum. I’ve been back to OT once since the upgrade and just don’t bother going any more. I used to miss it but now I don’t miss all the “nasty” that was combined with occasional “useful” commentary.
This may not be a glitch, but something I’m just doing wrong… I can’t search my posts. When I click on my screen name at the top and then click on “My Recent Posts” on the drop down menu, the results are listed as threads, not posts. The post I wanted to edit was in a very long thread and I could not figure out how to find the post. I finally just went laboriously back, page by page, twenty pages and found my post. Am I missing something? How do I get a list of recent posts which display as posts, not threads?
Thank you. I found it and it seems that it wanted me to input my first and last name before “accepting” my email information. It is interesting to me that there is not a field for email in User Settings under your username in gray at the upper left of the forums. Perhaps because it falls under the umbrella of the entire Chronicle site now.
They started working an another round of tasks last night.
– TODAY’S POSTS and member list now available in the bar below where your username is located! I think we could get rid of that Latest Posts drop-down widget at the top of the page now…thoughts?
– Location is back.
– Font size has been increased.
– Regarding the search:
After upgrade from vBulletin4 to vBulletin5, search indexes needs rebuilding. This is server intensive process. Search index rebuild was started Wednesday night. We had delayed it because users were facing slow site issues immediately after conversion. It will take around 3-4 days to completely build.
Search results were capped at 250. Its changed to 500.
-- They are also working on an issue that is affecting the email system, so that's why email notifications are not currently going out.

@PeteyPie No, my results returned for that are listed by the threads in which my posts appeared too.
Here’s another way to look up your posts:
User Profile --> About --> (scroll to bottom) Links – > Find all posts
Before I contact them about seeing if we can change it, I’d like some feedback from users about how it works now and which type of search would be more useful…a quick, one-click way to access all of the threads in which you’ve recently posted, or one to access a list of all of your recent posts?
I’m trying to find if there’s a way to pull up all of your individual posts in a given thread. Anyone had luck with that?
Thanks!
