OMG… For real? OK. Who am I? I am not a dressage rider. I own and show saddlebreds. I’ve shown friesians in saddle seat and hunt seat, taken dressage lessons periodically. I’ve completed in training level and first at unrecognized shows a couple times over the years. I will be the first to say that I’m not 100% enamored of dressage. If my discipline of choice went away, There are probably at least four or five disciplines I would choose before dressage. I’m just not in love with competitive dressage. (though there are parts I like and agree with and find useful, hence my presence reading on the forum).
There’s nothing even close to correct upper level riding/training going on in Mr Peronace’s pics. Not even close. And you don’t get to just claim you’re a grand prix rider/trainer without… well… some proof. You’re claiming to work at a certain level. You can claim to have a college education all you want. But… unless the university hands you a diploma, you can claim all you want… LOL
I’ve ridden a horse who shows one of the intermediare levels and has competed to PSG. Just because I can hit a couple of the buttons doesn’t make me an FEI rider… My first saddlebred could easily school some of the third level canter work. Doesn’t mean she was a third level horse.
I’m definitely not jealous. I would just expect anyone purporting themselves to be a grand prix rider to… well… be a grand prix rider. From the “proof” that Mr Peronace has put out there of himself, he just is not the second coming of Dressage Jesus. He’s just a trick horse trainer who happens to throw a dressage saddle on
