Nick Peronace Dressage

According to her posts on her FB page it seems like she is telling the truth about the bell boots. I really hope so.

Blume Farm,

I literally gasped when I saw this on Facebook today. It’s changed the face of the entire thing to something really sad. I can’t believe anyone is so stupid.

Your horse is lovely and no horse just magically gets that way. We all have a "please fix’ list for ourselves, no one is excluded from that. However, you obviously have a fantastic working relationship with your horse who is beautifully turned out and cared for. I wish I had the nerve and the skill to display what that picture shows - which I think is what you see as well - a progression and a relationship between horse and rider.

You also have immeasurable grace in handling this situation. Kudos to you.

And NP is now saying on his business page that he will do a free clinic for any level rider and horse if you pay his way there!

I hope so too. But if they are in fact bell boots, they are way too small.

yeah and the owner is saying they would never do anything like use chains…yet they are feeding beer to a puppy and also looking up freeze brands for their horses? Ouch…
As much as I think that guy is … well pick your word of choice.
Freeze branding is a pretty accepted tool in identifying horses so I am not sure that just because this woman is looking for information about freeze brands she is a complete animal abuser.

PS, my dogs like beer. No we do not go around giving it to them.

The horse isn’t even WEARING bell boots. Does she know what they are?
Of course she knows what they are, don’t you? The are round, small, metal and link together to form a chain… Lol. Sarcasm…

I suspect that due to the owner’s posting of this thread on her page, there’s a whole lotta reading going on in Iowa right now

Here is the screen shot with his comment, among the others about ‘bell boots’.

I don’t think it’s abuse either…I do think it is painful. I’m not sure chains are abuse either, but they are pointless.

I agree, in this case I don’t think the chains are anything but a gimmick (sp?). But they are obviously there

And just a reminder to all that this woman should be treated respectfully by all of us. While we may disagree NP we don’t know anything about her. COTHers are a classy respectful bunch. Lets not cross any lines by attacking her or posting links to her FB page.

I have to agree.

We DO know one thing about her…she has a lovely lovely horse
And they come down over the hooves. ;)
I have seen bell boots on horses with very large hooves that didn’t fit correctly and rode up to the pasterns. Useless, of course.

I won’t comment on what I can’t see, but I will say that regardless of what he is wearing on his legs, he is not being ridden all that well. I won’t comment on the owner, but I hope she decides to look into a more reputable trainer for her horse.

On the assumption that the owner will be reading this I will say that no one here is saying that the horse is not beautiful or talented, the critique is strictly about the sub par rider.

Agreed. A line has been crossed here.
I’d like to retract this statement.

Thank you.

Carry on!

I think this might be him and Chevy? :-p

Could they be petal boots? I will say that I have heard that hissing, clicking sound from very granular footing - it’s surprisingly noisy. That’s a lovely horse, and I hate that the owners of these horses and the people being sucked in to NP’s mind games are liable to be hurt more here.

The man is not what he says he is, but that’s not the horse’s fault, or the owner’s.

That DAD trophy is a damned good con though - just look at the picture and advertising he got out of it!
