Nick Peronace Dressage

I’d say this moves beyond trainer with questionable skills to dangerous person. Give your local cops a heads up if you live in that kind of community (you know; where you wave at your police and they know everybody).

It’s just so odd! To each there own I guess. Thank you for posting.

Thank you for sharing your personal experience. I will update my friends in the area in case he calls them to work for “free”…

Someone did something similar to that locally. I can no longer remember her name, but she appeared from nowhere and was suddenly doing all sorts of clinics under the local dressage association. Her credentials sounded good, and I had a student who wanted to focus more seriously on dressage move to her. She signed up for a monthly package…got three lessons which sounded sketchy, and then the trainer disappeared with her money. Turned out her “References” where made up, she hadn’t done what she said she had done in Europe, and was really just an entry level coach. I wish I had known about COTH back then, and perhaps saved my (former) client some wasted time and money!

I do not think I see the photos of your lovely facility on his FB page any more. Hopefully that is the last you will ever hear from this guy.

He started a closed group strictly for his supporters. Perhaps one of us should join and post this thread? The guy is a few links short of a curb chain…

Really.

ETA : the guy is sooooo delusional. Went to check is FB page… not even worth to lololol…

Gee he’s just the gift that keeps giving isn’t he?

It’s always good when a liar and a fraud is sniffed out…they’re very persistent though and keep trying don’t they?

Thank you very much for posting this. I do hope that everything gets worked out for you.

Regarding the use of your pictures on Facebook, I think you can report them to Facebook. The report function is on each picture.[/QUOTE]

Can you use the report function on a page you are blocked from?

OP, I saw your posts on facebook and had to go look up your farm. You have a lovely place!

Maybe we could.

Which pictures?

I apologize in advance for bringing up an “old Thread” however, it was brought to my attention after the original thread was closed and I feel my encounter with Mr. Peronace could save unsuspecting people from being taken advantage of.

I want to take this opportunity to announce that I am NOT affiliated with Nick Peronace Dressage in any way, shape or form! Mr. Peronace applied to my farm for a “trainers” position back in November 2013. He was barely qualified to talk about riding and training in person, yet perform a service. I did put him on a young horse (6) who tested him, and he failed. He actually could not get the horse to walk around the indoor and I had to “rescue” him in the corner. This was after he asked myself and a trainer to put his spurs on for him! After going to get him and leading him back to the end of the ring, he asked me to get on the horse, and I granted his request. I showed him how to make the mare walk, trot and canter. He declined getting back on her and opted to put her on a lunge-line. I politely told him the interview was over, thanked him for his time and said good bye. The very next day he sent me a proposal to work at my farm for $500/week and train as many horses as I could give him, and he would “train” my horse for free. When I declined his offer, he became irate to the point I had to hang up the phone because of his vulgar comments. Never in all my experience in this business have I been spoken to in that manner by a so-called “professional.” I was raised where men did not speak to women in that manner. He even went so far as to call back and leave a very unprofessional message on my voice mail. If anyone has any doubt of my encounter, there were 2 VERY reputable trainers working here on that day who experienced Mr. Peronace’s “performance” I also saved the voice mail because it is so hard to believe this even occurred.

He has since posted photos of my farm on his Facebook page and attempted to use my farm for personal gain. When I requested he remove the photos as they were taken and used by him without my permission, he blocked me from his page. I have now consulted with an attorney. Please do your homework as he is persistently “cold calling” farms to host clinics. He is now offering them for “Free” Please beware. I have also forwarded correspondence to Dressage at Devon CEO and President and they are now aware, as well as other very big named trainers who’s names he has been throwing around.

I feel the horse community is so small, and tightly woven that we all have to watch each others backs in order to keep scammers such as this out.

Jacqueline, I hope you’ve heard the last of this guy. [edit]

Yeah, this is why I don’t think it’s a good idea for anyone to join his group to try to do good. If you read his posts on his public page you’ll get the impression he has a unique perspective. For example he offers to run a free clinic to show his talents and then observes that there were over 700 views and nobody has taken him up on his offer and he seems to think this means we’re full of crap. He rants about his frustration that people think he’s a fake and uses very strong language but doesn’t seem to connect his belligerence to the lack of credibility.

In my view, as someone with zero experience in psychology, behavior or anything like that, he would only take your joining his group as validation for his position. I would also be concerned about commenting or otherwise making your identity known by interacting on his page for fear he retaliates by harassing you.

I think the best thing to do is be aware of his existence, especially if you are in his neighborhood, but you should refrain from engaging him in any way shape or form.

JMO of course

I agree with Paula - I would not touch his FB page with my real identity with a 10 foot pole!

Another one who occasionally throws up and “clinics”

Thanks to the OP for a calm, firsthand account of Mr. Peronace’s attitude and “skill”.

How did the 6 year old mare “test” him - just the usual green horse feeling out a different rider thing?

The truth is so important! Thank you, OP, for relaying your experience. Posts like this are the only way people will learn the truth. It’s good that nothing more happened than the 6-year old just wouldn’t walk out of the corner… She could have been openly “labeled” as untrained/dangerous/“nuts”/“ruined by previous training”, etc. on a certain facebook page…

Although I would love to see someone post the thread in his closed group, this guy shows signs of severe anger issues and becomes hostile to anyone who doesn’t “agree” with him. [edit] He personally scares me! This is his reply to all of us:

"Do you critics not see how light I get the horses I train? Do you critics not read me saying that I will give a free clinic to show I’m no fake? Haven’t I openly said I would answer any question? Haven’t I been honest about my credentials REPEATEDLY? Haven’t I done my best in proving any claim I have ever made? What more can I do for you critics? I don’t mind if someone doesn’t appreciate my artistic abilities, but when you start calling me a fake or a fraud or have me confused with someone else that happens to have my name that’s just completely uncalled for! I am certainly no trick rider, and I TRAIN every horse I sit on! Then you rude people openly post on my page your idiotic comments instead of private messaging me like a normal human being or a decent professional, then you actually wonder why I ban and delete you people!?!? I have done NOTHING WRONG, and seeing how I have been ever so transparent, I do not appreciate the witch hunt! I am moving my page to a closed selected support group of my riding, as I do not live a negative lifestyle like all these critics. I have done great things for my community and I do not appreciate my character being assassinated by evil, jealous, nincompoops! I live a quiet drama free life. I have certainly contacted an attorney over some of this rubbish and we are definitely drawing of the papers.

I will post the link here to my group page, and this will free us of the drama, and all the evil these people live in. You won’t have to worry about it anymore and I will continue to post pictures and links to videos and we can discuss training, FREE from some 300 pound nobody who just sits in front of their computer screen all day because they can’t ride worth a shit, so they want to criticize me and my abilities out of sheer jealousy and Evil.

As you know, Nuno Oliveria is my equestrian Idol, and he too, believe it or not was criticized almost exactly the same as I am. They called him a “fake” a “trick rider” and a “conartist”, because they did not understand his technique. I love how he answered them and I am answering my critics in the same fashion:
“I am not ashamed of my horses, and I am waiting for these critics to present a horse like them. Beethoven wrote divine music but also his compostitions were criticized. I understand less and less how people can talk about equitation without showing anything. They talk to much. How crazy people are! I advise you to let these people write without getting into a debate with them. Be a philosopher. These discussions only give fuel to the editors allowing them to fill their pages”- Nuno Oliveira, 30yrs with Master Nuno Oliveira" - Nick Peronace

Methinks “drama-free” in his world is nothing at all like the real world…
