Nick Peronace Dressage

Had to chime in to say that the Richard Simmons pics are worth the eye strain from reading this entire thread tonight.

And regarding the bullying - do I think it’s right to pull random strangers into a thread like this just because they did or were planning to take a clinic from the maestro? No.

BUT I do think it’s fair to point out people lying about their credentials in order to bilk people. Unfortunately I (and many people I know) have been duped by unscrupulous horse people - mostly when buying a horse. The lying is rampant and there’s usually no way to know who the cheats are. When cheaters get outed online then we all know who to avoid!

Oh, for goodness sakes, he lied about a job offer? And I read that his agent said that PH would be publishing an article - maybe the agent was lying to him. Maybe he does have a book ready to go and again the agent told him it would be a done deal. Your guess is as good as mine.

It’s not as though he has never ridden a horse and just decided to teach. He isn’t throwing them in draw reins or slapping spurs on them He isn’t telling them they need a new saddle, bridle, breeches to fix what ails them. He isn’t telling them to get rid of the horse and ‘hey, I just happen to have the perfect one for you to buy in my barn’.[/QUOTE]

And his address and all his show experience (and potentially his criminal record assuming that is the same Nicholas A. Peronace)…

So if someone doesn’t take bad behavior ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF SPECTRUM… it’s ok? Because he didn’t beat a horse to death it’s fine to induce people to pay you $75/pop based upon experience/credentials you don’t have? That’s… some skewy moral compass IMHO but to each his own!

Really? You think misrepresentation is OK? You think that the more plausible story is that he has an agent who told him all of these untruths?

And when asked, the agent not only denies having finalized a deal, but has never heard of the guy?

OK…

I have no idea why you excuse this kind of dishonesty.

DT doesn’t know who he is .

The Dutch farm has never heard of him.

The Xenophen press, his “publisher” has never heard of him.

He gave as HIS OWN, on his website, an address that belongs to a farm who does not know him and has no business with him.

He is not the victim of a lying “agent”.

He’s teaching people incorrect things, too. When he was showing the owner of the NJ stables the unmounted flexions a la Baucher, they were being done incorrectly and COULD teach both horse and rider bad things. For instance, he backed that mare into a corner and NEVER GAVE when the mare softened. She was dancing around and clearly getting agitated. If someone who wasn’t as big as NP tried doing this, the horse could inflict some serious damage; not because she’s being naughty but because she needs OUT right now from the pressure.

I am glad this guy has been exposed for the fraud that he is. Maybe this will save someone else from having to undue years of incorrect riding and training.

You really need to read the first 30 or 35 pages of the thread, at least scan them. He made many claims, and the only one that was true was that he (sort of) taught his horse something when he was 17. Oh, he may also have been a working student - not sure if anyone ever contacted the woman he claimed to have worked for to see if that claim was as false as all the others.

Seriously, the man told no truths but instead deliberately misled clients from one end to another. Also seriously, I am very, very grateful to have had qualified teachers when I was a complete newbie and not NP as the rider to emulate.

That reminds me, stay tuned for our upcoming article “Catnip in Dressage: The Controversy” in the February 2043 Cat Fancy.

It seems as though most of the loose ends have been cleared up, and everyone given ample opportunity to say their piece, so we’re going to put this one back to bed.

Thanks ~

Nick Peronace Dressage

I apologize in advance for bringing up an “old Thread” however, it was brought to my attention after the original thread was closed and I feel my encounter with Mr. Peronace could save unsuspecting people from being taken advantage of.

I want to take this opportunity to announce that I am NOT affiliated with Nick Peronace Dressage in any way, shape or form! Mr. Peronace applied to my farm for a “trainers” position back in November 2013. He was barely qualified to talk about riding and training in person, yet perform a service. I did put him on a young horse (6) who tested him, and he failed. He actually could not get the horse to walk around the indoor and I had to “rescue” him in the corner. This was after he asked myself and a trainer to put his spurs on for him! After going to get him and leading him back to the end of the ring, he asked me to get on the horse, and I granted his request. I showed him how to make the mare walk, trot and canter. He declined getting back on her and opted to put her on a lunge-line. I politely told him the interview was over, thanked him for his time and said good bye. The very next day he sent me a proposal to work at my farm for $500/week and train as many horses as I could give him, and he would “train” my horse for free. When I declined his offer, he became irate to the point I had to hang up the phone because of his vulgar comments. Never in all my experience in this business have I been spoken to in that manner by a so-called “professional.” I was raised where men did not speak to women in that manner. He even went so far as to call back and leave a very unprofessional message on my voice mail. If anyone has any doubt of my encounter, there were 2 VERY reputable trainers working here on that day who experienced Mr. Peronace’s “performance” I also saved the voice mail because it is so hard to believe this even occurred.

He has since posted photos of my farm on his Facebook page and attempted to use my farm for personal gain. When I requested he remove the photos as they were taken and used by him without my permission, he blocked me from his page. I have now consulted with an attorney. Please do your homework as he is persistently “cold calling” farms to host clinics. He is now offering them for “Free” Please beware. I have also forwarded correspondence to Dressage at Devon CEO and President and they are now aware, as well as other very big named trainers who’s names he has been throwing around.

I feel the horse community is so small, and tightly woven that we all have to watch each others backs in order to keep scammers such as this out.

What did the attorney say? Does one have the legal right to force a person to stop using their pictures in a fraudulent manner?

I’m sorry that you were treated this way. I can’t believe that he still has supporters after everything that was uncovered. He’s moved his FB page to a private group - so I hope that you get resolution on the issue of the stolen images.

Thank you for posting this.

Regarding the use of your pictures on Facebook, I think you can report them to Facebook. The report function is on each picture.

Wow… this guy really has some cajones!

I saw his more recent FB posts, very very odd, still calling Xenophon “his publisher” - even posting their response about how they can not even consider someone until a their manuscript is complete. Nick has not even been considered by them for anything, he has not produced the work, yet he describes them as “his publisher”.

Of course, that is just the tip of the iceberg - what a bizarre man. Hopefully the truth will be spread far and wide before more people lose money, or are otherwise harassed by him.

Sorry you had to deal with him in person! Sounds unpleasant at best! And thank you for bringing this to the attention of DAD etc.

Just wanted to get in before this gets closed and say thank you for posting a dispassionate, first-hand account of this person’s lack of ability and his behavior.

If ever there was a reason to re-open a thread for a third time, I think this is that reason. OMG!!!

My first reaction was, “The thread is back?” then I saw it was a new thread. Thank you for relating your experience, let’s hope this thread stays on topic and open.

Oh my. I’m so sorry.

Wow there are some scary people out there. Sure there are always people who call themselves trainers etc. but this guy sounds certifiable.
How does one get rid of that amount of scary crazy with Social Media.
I shudder to think what his so called “Followers” are like.
