I think theyâre kind of cool. Certainly not any uglier than those Mountain Horse boots. Eecchhh. :dead:
Which Mtn. Horse ones do you mean?
Yes. They are removable, there are (I think they said) three different places on the boot they can be mounted, and there are a couple of different types of spur head.
I donât know the model, but they look like a cross between combat boots and riding boots. Not my cup of tea.
Iâd never show or clinic in them, but I would love a pair to school in. I bet theyâre really comfortable! I would prefer not to have the red detailing though - solid black would be better.
Schooling only!! For show , would not like the zipper showing either and they are a bit gaudy but after a whiole in the mud, they would be fine. Price? I missed that. They would have to be cheap to give up padocksw/half chaps.
Yuk! :dead:
You know, Iâm betting Nike didnât make these for the OlympicsâŠmore like, they had leftover footgear from costuming Battlestar Galactica!
Seriously, though, the thought of a sticky panel on the inside of the boot is very appealing to me!
wow, I think these are UGLY!!! they look like space boots
Any idea if these boots are going to become available? I think they would be great to school and teach in. My high boots just arenât that comfortable. I hope they sell them tot he public!
Tretorn Riding Boots?
What about the Tretorn Riding Boots (distributed by EquiFit)?
Personally, I think they are so much nicer than the Nike riding boots. I assume that the Tretorn Riding Boots will become a big hit with the trainers who spend many long hours on their feet along with long hours in the saddle.
Not sure where they are made - but based off the www.tretorn.com website it seems that they have a real commitment to the environment and to ethical labor practices.
Thoughts?
I firmly believe they are made soley for people who play riders on TV, not real everyday type riders
I am fairly sure a good 95% of riders could not afford an item like that anywaysâŠwhy worry? I heard if they did make it to market, they would be upwards of $799.
Obviously they are useless for dressage shows but itâs a company that manufactures footware for high performance athletes. I have a feeling they just didnât slap together some ideas and call it a boot.
Although I donât think they would work for the traditional attire in shows, Iâll bet itâs comfortable, functional and personally I would take a couple pairs if ever I had that sort of money to blow on boots.
Wow, I think those are even uglier than the Nikes! Esp. in red.
Very interestingâŠ
âStill, Nike says it hasnât decided if it will leverage its Olympic marketing play into a product for the general horse-riding public.â
Iâd rather have the Tretorn boots anyway! And I heard that there might be even more colors coming out soon! Anyone??
looks like Amy Tryon has a pairâŠ
I actually think those Nikes look like a pretty useful boot. The Tretorns just look weird to me. A bit too swashbuckling for my taste. Although I could probably make some extra cash on weekends wearing the red TretornsâŠ:eek:
I canât help it, the history lover in me is shrieking and running for cover⊠Iâd love a pair of comfy tall boots, but not ones that look like theyâve stepped off the pages of a comic book⊠but wait, will they make me Super Rider? I may reconsider! Do they come with the power to leap large arenas in a single flying change?
Tretorn Riding Boot
If the Nike boot caught your eye, you should know a few things.
First of all, its not available to the public.
However, there is an even better option. Tretorn is now selling a new high-performance riding boot. Check them out at www.equifit.net
This is a great boot for serious riders and it is stylishâŠ
No Nike logo, here⊠and these boots donât have the awful spur attached.
The boots have been featured in Hamptons Magazine and Boston Common Magazine
threadâŠAnd all I can think is, if theyâre made in China, please donât buy them, along with any other Chinese goods that you can do without.
.
You know, things you canât live without⊠clothes, underwear, socks, shoes, horse blankets, electronics, foodâŠ
Just ordered new horse blankets, complete with the âmade in chinaâ sticker.
