Nike riding boots?

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
will suffice!

The second I saw those Tretorn boots, I burst out laughing. You can switch the color to red for an even harder laugh. All’s you need are some bright blue breeches and a cape and you’re Superman. But wait! How about some shiny blue undies with stars and a red boustier! You’re Wonderwoman!

I think they look more like pirate boots aaarrggh

Nike Ippea Riding Boot

I thought they were smokin’ hot. I contacted NIKE and they told me they weren’t available yet but would be by the beginning of 2009. They also told me that they’d call me as soon as they were available and I’ll keep everyone informed. As well I completely understand everyones opinion not to buy “made in china” products but it is your elected government that helps outsource the manufacturing of a lot of products for a variety of company’s. And I’m more than sure that those people opposed to purchasing products made in china have most certainly bought Nike’s or some other brand and/or products recently !

The Nike boots get a thumbs down for looks…the Nike swoosh shouldn’t be so “out there” and the red highlighting is a bit too much…but I bet they are comfy (which would be a nice change for my feet!)

I’d school in them.

Saw them in photo in USEF Equestrian.

In a word. UGLY!!!

Hideous.

The Nike boots would be good for show jumpers and jockeys. They say speed.

Now the Tretorns…hmmm. They actually appeal to me. They recall 17th century equestrian paintings, ya know?

I’m a sucker for that stuff. Besides, my feet hurt.

Here’s a pair of Tretorn boots on ebay-

And here’s a pair of the Nike boots too -

The first time I saw the Nike boots (months ago) I hated them. When I clicked on the Sneaker Freaker site, however, I thought, “COOL”! Yeah, I’d buy a pair, if they’re not outta sight expensive.

Now the Tretorns – it might take me YEARS to warm up to that look!

Forgive me for resurrecting this thread…but I’m curious if anyone has heard anything else about the Nike boots?

LOL. The boots wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t for the funky heel… As they are, though, I could picture them on one of the (fictional) “Super Prix” riders: http://pixofthelitter.net/pixofthelitter_007.htm

without the red stripe and gaudy heel… it sure would be nice to have a tall boot i could walk around in without my feet feeling like death…

I like them and would totally try them…I know they aren’t traditional, but I think they look athletic and comfortable. And anything to help lend additional credibility to riding as a sport would really help me out with my skeptical boyfriend.

I saw them at Equine Affaire last year. NIKE was there doing a marketing study on them to determine the feasibility of bringing them to market.

Only a few had been made at that point and there wasn’t any mass production planned at the time.

Put him on a horse, make him trot for an hour.
