Thanks for the explanation MS. One of the reasons I like NPR is that it makes clear the anti-American viewpoints are chiefly those of extremists, not Muslims in general.
Yes they are really good about doing that, which I think is what I appreciate about them too.

On the other hand the Qatari rider Bassem Hassan Mohammed, he won the Monaco GCT GP this year and while he did do some hands off celebration on the back of the horse it wasn’t reckless like Sharbartly’s display was.
I have no problem if someone even does something reckless on one’s own horse. For one thing, it may not be that reckless, because you know the horse.
But when you’re in that final four, you’re entrusted with three other VERY VERY valuable (in both the emotional and monetary sense) animals. You need to take the utmost of care. Especially in a situation like the final four of the WEG, where the animals have already been through so much.
If it had been an American, dropping the reins and galloping while fist pumping “USA” on another person’s horse, I would have been equally perturbed. And embarrassed also, since he/she would be representing my country.

I get being excited, but the whole dropping the reins and galloping is still something I don’t understand.
As for everyone else, i’m sorry that some of you took offense to what I had said, which was quite unintentional. Like one of the posters above said, unless you have experience with the good people, you’re not going to know the other side of the story.
