Or shorten it further to Ginnie/Ginny, which also hits on the southern-classy front
Such an interesting color!!
Like a washed out liver chestnut! What is it??
I just have to say, that kid has got some leg on her! She looks great on that horse.
Love the color of the new one. It is sort of a nut brown. If not Bodie/Bodacious, I do like Toasted Almond. She is kinda that color and you could nickname her anything remotely related, like Tilly or Teddy. Or Allie.
Whatever you call her, she looks like a blast to ride!
I know it’s not a horse color, but she looks rose gold in that second pic!
Cappuccino (or other coffee drink)
Red Label
Tennessee Whiskey
Agree she looks like she’ll be fun! I used to ride a Belgian/QH who was basically a pony-sized Belgian and would do ANYTHING you asked.
She does look rose gold. Maybe that could be her name, or at least her nickname: Rosie. Then you’d have Nosey and Rosie!
I think we’re going with Bodie, as a nickname for Bodacious. Or Bootilicious I don’t see horse showing as a primary job in this girl’s future so a show name is not a priority, but Bodie seems to be working for me.
She and Nosey will meet this week after this gal has her hind shoes removed.
No Chunky Monkey huh
Interesting color! I think it’s a chestnut base but maybe some kind of modifier. Not typical dun because no dorsal stripe but maybe something else. Also mealy/pangare lightness on legs and belly. Maybe a halflinger cross?
I was wondering what that was called, the light legs without being white. Thank you.
My QH has a similar leg coloration. He is a darker liver chestnut whose legs get lighter past the knee. In the winter they look almost dark blond but shed out to a light liver color, very similar to Bodie.
So maybe a genetics somewhere? Idk.
Bodacious was a famous bucking bull - he’s actually in the Rodeo Hall of Fame and the PBR Hall of Fame. Hopefully nobody mentions that to your lovely girl.

Ouch. That had to sting.
Yeah, that was my thought, too…
Oh lordy now I’m being indecisive. Bringing her in this morning I just called her “big girl”
Or they can mention to her that one can wear this name with pride because others with this name have done great things in their area of expertise.
The bull was successful, famous and understood his job. The cowboys who rode him (or tried to) voted him in and, IIRC, he retired well. Quick check says he toured “state fairs, rodeos and even a Las Vegas casino” for several years after stepping out of the arena.
Bodacious dictionary definition is remarkable, admirable and in modern slang refers to ample, as in bodacious babes. Mare is on the stout side and an unusual color, thought it a good choice. ‘Course Bodie was a famous skier, in the name of a number of successful race horses and currently both a boy and girl name/nickname.
Around here, she might be Chica Grande.
Olé!
