O.M.G.! SoCal Trainer Story

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-chinese-daughter-mother-crash-20171029-story.html

Maybe it’s just my bad luck with a past trainer, but this story makes me so angry! A friend shared it on FB, and after picking my jaw up off the floor, I started doing some online sleuthing about this woman and discovered she has quite the history of bad business dealings and dishonesty. How do people like this stay in business?

::Coming out of lurkdom:: I heard about this!! She’s local to our area and has quite the reputation, but even this shocked me when I read it. What kind of a person can lie that easily and drag a body? Beyond appalling behavior. . .

Awful story. I don’t know this individual so can’t speak of any situation there.

As for your question, people that do awful things and con others are REALLY good at manipulating, grooming, sweet talking, advertising, picking up and moving locations if they are found out, tricking people into not talking, etc. They prey on those who do not do their research. It is sad, but it happens all the time. That is why it is so important to check the credentials of anyone you plan to do business with.

It looks like she trains and competes under Nicole Rose, a different or abbreviated version of her legal name based on the name mentioned in the article. It makes it a little harder to check her credentials, which is probably by design. Ugh! Shady people like this infuriate me, most especially when demonstrating such a complete lack of empathy and ethics. Just based on what’s posted online, it seems she has a history of bad behavior but keeps getting away with it. Hopefully the DA does the right thing here and pushes for felony charges.

I dunno sombody died here, maybe it’s not appropriate and very insensitive to drag the innocent victims name into a discussion of the county prosecutors decision on what could be proved or plea bargained on a horse board? Maybe it belongs on OT? Not a trainer trashing thread that is inconsequential compared to death?

I’m not Nancy Drew or anything, but just based on the article, how did she get away with claiming she wasn’t the driver of her vehicle?? If she wasn’t driving it, who was? Her dog?

I’m not sure I follow how this is insensitive. The woman is a horse trainer with terrible reviews online that all speak to her character, and the victim went to the media to speak out about the incident in hopes of getting more exposure for what she feels is a huge injustice. She’s also actively working with an attorney to lobby the DA’s office for more serious charges. I would think any additional exposure outing this trainer’s horrendous actions would be welcome, particularly if they could prevent other unwitting people from doing business with her.

Sadly I know her: https://www.google.com/search?q=nicole+rose+horse+trainer&oq=Nicol+Rose&aqs=chrome.3.69i57j0l5.5137j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#lrd=0x80e8230ee34fbfa7:0x83ba70bbf76e90dc,1,,

Right? It makes no sense. If she truly wasn’t driving under the influence or distracted with her phone, why the unconvincing lies, car moving and body dragging? Why not just call 911 and show some normal human emotions after a tragic accident? This whole thing stinks from a million miles away.

But hey, via her attorney she sent the victim her condolences and prayers. I mean that’s good enough for mass murder victims so it should be good enough here. (sarcasm)

Blows my mind how any human could do such a thing. Pull the dead body out of the roadway to protect yourself, the person you just killed. No thought to helping? Boggles the mind. That creature is beyond being a b*tch, she’s a monster.

Do the online reviews reflect your experience with her?

I could maybe understand the idea of moving the person out of the road, if you thought she was in danger of being run over by other traffic. Whether or not that is a valid approach would probably depend on the circumstances.

But the rest of it? No. No, no, no, no, no. Just no.

I wonder if her sponsor CWD is aware of any of this.

In case anyone is interested, she was sentenced today.

The victim posts in the comments section as well. This whole thing is just so sad and unfair. This woman is truly a sociopath.

Yes. Apparently she’s at a horse show right now too, able to make a living for another day when she should be in jail. This whole thing is just so gross to me!

Eeee. I wonder how Chevy feels about having her in their truck ad now.

I’d say thats true poetic irony…her being in a truck ad

It seems pathologically lying comes easily to this person. I think most people would have some empathy for her if she didn’t try to fabricate a story and attempt to conceal the damage to her truck.

She just got sentenced to a year in jail.

Wow. I was so saddened by the judge’s statement that she “obviously is a good person” based on how many people showed up or wrote in to support her. I feel so strongly for the victim in this case and wish her the best with her civil suit. I hope she wins and cleans this woman out.
