Old Navy polos: just buy 20 of them. You'll thank me.
Can I ask a sizing question? Does everything still run really large there?

I don’t usually shop at Old Navy because I don’t like supporting big box stores and I like to buy my every day riding stuff used, but I actually do need some new polos. The last time I was there was many years ago and nothing fit me- it was all too big or so cheaply made it fit weird. Has that changed? Thanks!
I can’t wear most of their clothes because they are too wide/boxy but the polos are long and stretchy. In tops I’m on the fence between a small and a medium (I have a small frame but big shoulders/long arms) and I am very firmly a small in the polos. I could probably fit in an XS.

The half zip tops are similar - I am firmly a size small, could probably even size down to XS for that skin-tight sport shirt look. The arms and the torso are plenty long, though, and their athletic apparel doesn’t seem to be cut as boxy as some of their fashion wear.

At winners this year, I got 3 Ralph Lauren polos for under thirty bucks. Honestly, I really don’t think the quality is any better than old navy. They are plenty long enough for me, but still manage to untuck themselves. Those long sleeve quarter zips look great though. I’ll give them a shot!

I wouldn’t shop at Old Navy if your criteria is that you want it to last for 20 years. I love Old Navy’s cheap prices, but I shop there for fashionable items that I won’t want to wear in a few years like gray skinny jeans. Their clothing wears out pretty quickly.
Most of my Old Navy barn polos are going on 7-10 years now, for the record.

FYI the 25% code is still good today

I bought a fleece zip jacket and absolutely love it!! $12. It was even comfortable to ride in!

You must be pretty easy on clothes then. Mine fall apart within a few years.

I looked back in the thread, but don’t see the 25% off code?

I’ve not had good luck with their plain polos, the ones that are like tshirt material; those tend to develop holes quickly, even with just light casual wear. I have had really good luck with their pique polos lasting well. In stores in late summer/early fall, they tend to have a selection of adult-sized “school uniform polos” in white, light blue, pink, etc that are great for riding. I can’t seem to find them on their website in adult sizes, though :frowning:

Here you go! They also come in tall.

I had to jump on the bandwagon too, bought a navy and black polo, and 2 of the quarter zips. I got a heathered grey one, and a really pretty black one with a tonal paisley pattern. Picked up a puffy vest too for only $30!

I found their clothes poorly fitting and cheaply made years ago, so I haven’t even been in there, but for riding clothes, they’re great!

I totally forgot about their vests! I got a puffy hunter green one last year that was intended to be for the barn only but I find myself reaching for it on other occasions as well.

I’m generally not a big wearer of Old Navy in my daily life, but for barn clothes they are really the best. And I do think that their quality has improved, at least in some items, as I’ve been extremely happy with their polos, down jackets and vests.

My jeans would disagree with you, but different strokes.

I kept reading the thread title and wondering when old navy started making polo wraps. This daylight savings time is messing with my mind!

I’m actually with Renn on this. I have polos I got at old navy when I was in grad school. I’ve been out 7 years and one is just now starting to get a small hole. These are the heavier pique material I think.

I buy the $5 women’s polos from Aeropostale. They actually hold up pretty well, I can usually get 2 years out of them so I think that’s reasonable for $2.50 a year.

french fry - you all about had me convinced to just get the regular length polo, but then I saw your comments on the jumper coat thread. I’m not anywhere close to 6’ tall, but I definitely need a GP tall coat in the torso and arms, so if your torso is shorter than mine, I’m thinking a small tall ON polo will work. Yes? Wish talls were available in store to try.

This is tricky! I do have a long torso; one piece swimsuits typically don’t fit me  and I do have trouble finding shirts that are long enough in regular length. It’s just that my arms/legs are longer than my torso, proportionally speaking. I think it’s more that the GP length in regular coats is a hair short while the tall length is about an inch too long. I decided I’d rather go a little shorter since that seems to be the current style anyway and I can’t STAND looking at photos of myself in my other jacket, which is a little too long and makes me look like a kid playing dress up (in retrospect.)

So, anyway, I only have experience with the Old Navy polos in tall but they are freakishly long - like when I tuck them in they could stretch all the way down to cover all of my butt long!! I actually don’t mind this since it gives me ample room to tuck them in and then sort of fluff them up so the tuck isn’t skin-tight, but I certainly have way more length than I actually need.
