Old Navy polos: just buy 20 of them. You'll thank me.

Gah–now I’m even more confused. Guess I’ll have to take a trip to the mall to try on the regular length first.

I’m actually with Renn on this. I have polos I got at old navy when I was in grad school. I’ve been out 7 years and one is just now starting to get a small hole. These are the heavier pique material I think.
I also have the heavier pique polos. I imagine this makes a difference if there are other models with a T-shirt fabric.

For those discussing sizing, I am 5’7" with broad shoulders (dress size 10 in the shoulders and 6-8 elsewhere) and fit comfortably in a medium regular length, with plenty of tuck in room in the tails.

And I’m going to 1000x this, but for those quarter zips! I have the fleece ones, and I love them. I get a medium so I can layer a underarmor type shirt under it. They are just as warm as my (one) uber expensive north face fleeces are.

I should also add that mine didn’t shrink in the normal “old navy” fashion (you know…somehow gets shorter and boxier when it gets dried).

I dug up this thread for two reasons:

  1. to say thank you because I got two polos super cheap a few weeks ago; and

  2. to let y’all know that the Performance Fleece Half-Zip Pullovers are $10, plus today you get 20% off with the code ONSAVENOW. That makes them just $8!
(I’m tempted to get a few, plus some flannel pajama pants for $7 each so I can get free shipping)

I so just had to go buy polos…argh! thanks COTH  but I did get them for $8 and other stuff too…got 20% off and free shipping.

If you really want to save money (for schooling only) , buy a couple $70 bicycling jerseys and they will last 10 years and have back pockets to store stuff for kicks.
& purchase online from sierra Trading Post for a DEAL on bicycling jerseys.

Just picked up 2 more activewear 1/4 zips. These are my absolute favorite. They layer nicely under a fleece for when it’s 35 ish and below and are awesome on their own. Also love their compression capris and pants. They’re a little bit slicker than breeches but I can go from work to barn and just throw on half chaps! (Obviously don’t have an office job). Plus they just can out with a million bright patterns. $20 bucks right now. Cheap enough for me to school in!

I’m bumping this up because Old Navy is having a 40% off sale, and I need some everyday clothes. I am not sure how to go on the sizing though. I have freakishly long monkey arms and a lot of my long sleeved stuff looks like 3/4 sleeves. When I ordered long t-shirts from Gap once though, the length was ridiculous. The sleeve length was good and even slightly long, but the torso was like a mini-dress.
Anyway, I’d like to get a couple of the 1/2 zip fleece tops, but don’t know if I should go small or medium, regular or tall. I used to always be a medium, but with vanity sizing I seem to always be a S or XS now. And the sleeves are too short. But I’m fairly stick-like, so I appreciate when I can find clothes that don’t hang off me like a paper bag.
Suggestions?

I am a typical medium in tops. Old navy’s medium fits me well in the body. I have long arms aswell. I just bought two of their technical quarter zips, and the arms are plenty long enough. I tried their fleece last year, but didn’t have the best luck. I was swimming in a large, but the sleeves in the medium were too short. I hope this is helpful

I actually stopped into the store this morning to try the half-zip wicking tops that were mentioned on the winter riding shirt thread and bought a couple for myself!
My tops just arrived, I’m thrilled with how nice they are - thanks for the link! Can’t beat that price.

Thank you!

Echoing the sentiments on the sizes. The active wear 1/4 zips have really long arms (another monkey armed individual here). I have not tried the fleece 1/4 zips for many years but I remember them being quite boxy and short in the arms, they still look pretty boxy.

Stopped at Old Navy on Thursday, and the whole store was 50% off. Picked up another frost-free vest and 2 more athletics 1/4 zips. That’s all I’ve been wearing to ride this winter, long sleeve 1/4 zips and a vest.

Everything is an extra 40% off online today! Very excited for the 1/4 zips to get here! They look perfect for layering this winter.

CrowneDragon, Did you decide to go with the S or M? I’m just wondering because it sounds like I’m built like you!
