I actually feed sad watching some of these horses really struggling with this course…
Tim Price is out of the box.
this is absolute carnage
horse down for the dutch
both up
Another scary fall now for the netherlands rider

wow - that grey horse of tattersall’s nearly did a pirouette there in the arrowhead complex. looks like he just needed to get his head in the game. wonder how he feels about the browband slapping him?
i agree, this course definitely does not seem to favor forward riding.
i am absolutely loving NBC’s coverage though, with the drones and drive-alongs - makes you feel like you are there with them in tandem.
actually disagree. It FAVORS a forward stride on most of the lines. But if horse is not also straight…there will be issues.
Another horse fall.
Netherlands horse is down. This is brutal
Man, I thought that Dutch horse was going to make it for a minute.
beautiful coverage on CBC.ca
Fall of Dutch horse and rider. Both walked away but scary.
Wow, how to cover my eyes for a second. Happy to see them both up and walking.
This is getting hard to watch. Even taking the short route on that gate seems harsh on the horse.

i just see table tennis on TV. I’ve got streaming working but the TV guide says it should be equestrian and instead is showing ping pong table tennis. Fail on NBC to appeal to a younger crowd on this one!!
And they just showed a schedule for their coverage today on USA … Equestrian nowhere in sight. Way to bait and switch NBC … Now I can’t watch at all (I can’t live stream because I don’t have an actual cable subscription … I was hoping to see it on the tv at work)
This course is carnage… it shouldn’t be THIS scrappy.
Dutch rider (Theo van Vendall sp) just had a fall. Looked like the horse caught the flag post on the side of the jump, couldn’t recover and ended up rolling over top of his rider. Rider got up and walked away, seemed okay, Horse seemed okay too.

i think the tables favor forward riding… but the rest…
not many tables on course compared to everything else. you can’t ride forward in any of the complexes IMHO, seems very showjumpy.
LOTS of run outs at the first water, from what I’ve seen more run outs than successful attempts.
How can it favour forward riding when all you are doing is turning and collecting to jump narrows. Where is the galloping? Where are the jumping out of stride? It just looks hard to get a flow or something…
I am seriously worried for some of these less experienced riders.
Snadra Auffarth has had a refusal!
