Olympic Live Stream Discussion Thread - It's On!

His horse didn’t read the hind rail and stifled it hard, then flipped over. Both walked away, the horse was hurt.
I felt like that was just much too deep a distance. I think the horse just couldn’t get to the back from there- not that it couldn’t read it.

XC will definitely be influential.

Who are the commentators?

Scary fall for the irish rider :frowning:

Is there no commentary on the NBC coverage?

corner has an option I think
another horse had a very bad spot to the corner but was smart enough to run out
That was a nailbiter- thought the horse was going to go. Glad he was smart enough to glance off.

Is there a course map anywhere? I am having trouble following it on livestream

gemmma tattersal refusal in water

Gemma Tattersal’s horse has a wicked left drift right from the beginning. She is going to have to work later on with some of the angles.

Finally grabbed someones NBC log-in to watch, since USA is showing TT.

Looks like the long route is the strategic decision on that table and fence combination.

Yes I think the horse was trying to read it…he was sticky for sure.

This course does not flow…not XC like enough for me…very showjump like. Scoreboard is going to be a gong show.

I screenshotted one from US equestrian’s Instagram feed. Give me a minute while I figure out how to post it.

another run out for Tattersall at the double brush corners.

This course does not favour forward riding. Anyone who jumps clean and makes the time is pretty amazing.

PM, punishing horses and riders as usual. I don’t understand why he is allowed to design championship courses. Eventing should not feel like being tumbled in a dryer. If the direct route is dangerous, then the option becomes mandatory, but that doesn’t help the ones who got crunched by the direct route.

I’ve got it on NBC (knock on wood).

Did anyone see what happened to Ireland? I looked up from COTH and he was on the ground. Everyone appeared fine though.
i just see table tennis on TV. I’ve got streaming working but the TV guide says it should be equestrian and instead is showing ping pong table tennis. Fail on NBC to appeal to a younger crowd on this one!!

Sam Griffiths clear with 6.8 time I believe.

scoreboard shows gemma eliminated

This is !#@%&*! ridiculous!

TABLE TENNIS!!! THAT is more interesting than cross country??? And when the GUIDE says equestrian, AND it has been on the website as scheduled for THIS channel, LIVE???

Sorry, I have steam coming out of my ears right now.

wow - that grey horse of tattersall’s nearly did a pirouette there in the arrowhead complex. looks like he just needed to get his head in the game. wonder how he feels about the browband slapping him?

i agree, this course definitely does not seem to favor forward riding.

i am absolutely loving NBC’s coverage though, with the drones and drive-alongs - makes you feel like you are there with them in tandem.
