Olympic Live Stream Discussion Thread - It's On!

Hurray- everything streamed live for canucks on cbc. How unusual!

Watching day 2 of eventing dressage now

http://olympics.cbc.ca/video/live/equestrian-aug-eventing-dressage-28511.html

Not gonna lie, I don’t like the way ear bonnets look in dressage. I still can’t get used to the look.

Some of the camera coverage is great. Some is from above, and it’s hard to see the performance quality.

Colleen Loach had a great save. I don’t know exactly what happened as her test started - sounded like some microphone testing or something scared her horse into cantering through the trot work. But the commentators did an excellent job of explaining that she managed to contain the scoring to just one movement and kind of saved the day, as it were. Colleen was so cool and kind with her horse, not making the situation worse. Rest of the test was very nice. She finished with a smile and a warm pat for her beautiful horse. Colleen showed a LOT of class!

Horse Magazine(aus) providing good coverage- they just posted this on FB

Bad luck in the first extended trot for Colleen Loach when microphone noise caused Qorry Blue D’Argouges to spook. Final score of 56.6

Is the Ground Jury being kinder today? That does seem to happen often.

I will never understand the fascination some people have with those *#@ ear bonnets. They cover up and mar the look of this beautiful animal.

The Irish rider Jonty has a wonderful ride! The horse was so light and fluid in his movement.

really? people are upset about earbonnets?

Maybe it muffles the sound a bit and makes the horse more comfortable ?

If legal go for it

If you hate ear bonnets- do you love the top hats too?

Friendly tip - sign up for PlayStation Vue for a free trial & you can use it to login to the NBC app. Have to scroll down on list of providers but it’s listed  Streaming is back

This what I am using, as a PSN user… but unfortunately, I cannot get the feed to play. The plugin keeps crashing even though Mozilla is “UTD on all shots”.

The French team have protested the Chilean entry because he was riding in uniform. Sorry - but that is SO FRENCH !

Lauren Kieffer is next! I hope everything goes well!!

ETA: Solid test I think!

Andrew Bennie doesn’t seem to have like Veronica’s final halt AT ALL.

Yea Lauren and Troll! They had a nice, solid test.

Disappointing score according to EN?

47,something She was killing it until the canter work. I thought her canter work was solid, but the judges did not always agree.

Chris Burton’s horse is TO DIE FOR!!![/QUOTE]

I know this is from yesterday but YES! Loved that horse - so I looked up his bloodlines. Very dressagey bloodlines (Sandro Hit x Bolero, LOVE Bolero  ). I found that very interesting and am looking forward to seeing him jump.

Sandro Hit comes from a jumper sire line, and Bolero was 3/4 TB.
