Olympic Show Jumping Thread

U.S. Farrington and Springsteen have had 4 faults. Rough start for the U.S.

The networks have never cared about the Equestrian events.

Yeah, really hoping Laura can get one into the individual final for the US!

Lucinda Green is a kind commentator.
Damn . Laura has 8 faults.

For those who are watching… is there any one fence that is giving everyone trouble?

My thoughts exactly. Just damn.

I wouldn’t say there is one specific jump. The faults are pretty well spread out around the course. The combination down the last line has certainly caught a few.

I feel terrible for the person who stopped out at the first jump. That’s a long way to go for that result. I don’t remember now who it was, but it would stink even more if it was someone who was there as an individual instead of on a team.

Wow. We have not qualified as a U.S. team?

Qualifying for Team is 6th Aug;

I think you are right. I am sleepy. I hope we can make up for our misfortune (not that we looked terrible, we were just not at our best.)

Where did you go, person who I was responding to?

Thanks Equibrit. I’ll hold out hope.

Is there a reason we are all posting on this thread in the HJ forum, when COTH has set up a special section just for this Olympics? I noticed it happened with Eventing as well, but its confusing, I don’t know which one to follow and since I’m so busy trying to work its time consuming. Could you guys pick one and stay with it? Or maybe the mods can combine the two?

They have been re-broadcasting a modified version every afternoon on the NBCSports Network. Today it will be at 3:15 pm. Randy Moss and Melanie Smith commentate.

Sometimes it’s late depending on what is on before it.

NBCSN is included in my basic cable package—yours may be, too.

Thanks @ohnoO, I will look into that. Though that time of day I am at work so …

Or better yet, you can watch the replay whenever you want, with Lucinda Green and John Kyle as commentators if you use NBC’s live streaming link. The link is on most of the COTH articles, I’m not sure if I can copy it. You see the entire competition, not just highlights like you do with NBCSN.

Good to know, thanks!!

So here is the link to the article I was referring to. https://www.chronofhorse.com/article/what-you-need-to-know-about-olympic-show-jumping

It includes the live streaming link under “HOW TO WATCH.”

This only allows for a very short period of watching for free, then you need log in credentials from your streaming/cable/dish service to continue. Like I said up thread, it would be great if there was a way for people who do not have a service to watch.

Does the replay require a log in? I am not seeing horse sport replays anywhere.

It does require that I use my Verizon Fios credentials, sorry I didn’t realize that you don’t have that capability.
