Olympic Team Show Jumping Concludes Wednesday, August 17

I gasped at the fall! That’s such a great pair, I was really surprised by that happening to them :frowning: But it sounds like they can come back for the team competition, just not individuals?

So, two Ukranian riders are E’d. Does that mean the team is out of the team competition, since they did not field 3 scores?
Impressed with the rider from Chinese Taipei for retiring. This course looked to be at the very upper limit of her horse’s scope and he was looking overwhelmed.

several horses sired by the For Pleasure line … my baby girl is related to Olympians
yay!!

So certainly not the best day for the US but this is show jumping and anything can happen and all of our riders are still in for the individual. Lets just think of this as a warm up lol.

Completely fine. Today just served as determining the order of go for tomorrow - Teams will start on 0 again, and carrying forward 4 (as Beezie/McLain/Lucy will) for the individual is not bad at all.

I want Emerald. That is all
A friend of mine has a mare (not just a mare, a 1.50m Grand Prix Holsteiner mare) in foal to him for 2017, so we’re all rooting for Emerald. Can’t wait to see the baby… whoever buys it is going to get a jumping machine!

What a disappointing display from that Italian rider on Caspar 232. Really lacking in horsemanship.
Gaudiano is hideous to watch in the best of times, he wins a lot of speed classes though because he’s willing to drive the horses through the jumps…Caspar is a great horse, such a shame.
OTOH, what about those Brazilians? Nice work GM!

I think Ben Maher had to sell him to pay off his debts. Tiffany has done so well with him and has improved so much in the last few years. Always smiling.
That is correct, they got him for a song. Well a relative song, definitely less then most Olympic gold medal winning horses go for. He’s such a sweet horse and definitely loves Tiffany.

I thought you could re-watch the competition? Not so anymore?

There is a delay getting the replays up on the app, a few hours to a day. You should be able to rewatch, and so worth it!

I love seeing the not-young riders still bringing it. Inspiration for the rest of us.

Thank you!

Loved the burgundy colored coats that Quatar wore - looked smashing with bay horses!

Just goes to show that Robert Ridland is no GM.
Wow.

Where should I be looking for these videos? I can’t seem to find any replays on the website.

Thanks Anne. Sadly I can’t watch. I don’t have cable. :frowning: I wish NBC had an option of paying for live stream.

Is cortes c that loud breathing wise usually and he seemed a bit rough moving but I know he is not a youngster and has been carefully handled for this event. Regardless just an unlucky rail…such a class pair.
