Does anyone have the TV schedule for when they will be showing the Olympic events?
I got this from the USEF

Hope this link works - not sure if I did it right!
Olympic Television Coverage
Just saw in my Entertainment Weekly (in a section about six Olympic sports you might not watch, but should) that USA will be airing Team Dressage on Sat. 8/9 from 2am -2pm. Thought this would be of interest to the eventers on this forum!

Ugh, I hate the way they schedule this stuff. 12 hours is a long time, and they bounce back and forth, those of us who are away all day don’t have a prayer of catching it.
Well, this it true…but with Tivo or even a VCR, you can record them and just fast-foward through the commercials, etc!

THe OXygen Network is airing equestrian stuff as well. From the commercials it looks like XC
Yeah, but my TiVo will choke and die if all the equestrian is in 12 hour blocks! Right now I am desperately dumping other saved horse stuff to tape!

They are scheduled to air all four hours of XC. Gotta love it. I don’t care who is riding. It is all fun to watch.
For the Canadians on the bb, Bold (CBC’s specialized channel, formerly CountryCanada) is scheduled to air quite a bit of dressage starting Aug 8… http://www.cbc.ca/bold/BOLD_2008OlympicSchedule.pdf
Olympic TV schedule
Anyone know when they will have a schedule for the equestrian ready? I would think that by now they would have a timeline up, but I dont see anything yet! Im sure all of it will be in the middle of the night-gotta get the TiVo ready!!
In past years it has depended on how the competition goes, if something spectacular happens, good or bad, they will put it on at a more sensible time. If the USA wins or something happens to a US athlete, they will put it on during normal hours…maybe even on the parent network, the BIG channel everybody gets.
But if we are not spectacular and are not in contention for a medal, it’s some channel half of America does not get at 3am and not published so you have to Tivo/DVR 6 to 8 hours of programming in hopes of 3 minutes of coverage narrated by somebody who does not know what they are talking about.
But ask me how I really feel…
there were a couple threads a couple weeks back with a full schedule…try searching? if not im sure someone else will post it
Actually, the “full schedual” was a list of mostly 6 to 8 hour blocks lumped in with multiple other smaller sports. No specific times. In the past I have taped these things only to find something spectacular did happen in another sport and bumped the equestrian coverage off the program.
Ever sit and skim 6 hours of VHS tape looking for a nugget of coverage only to get to the end and find nothing because it was bumped? Or see 3 minutes of CC with no ID on what you are seeing, just a recap of the medalists? BTDT and will not waste time with it this time around.
Anyone know of any livestreaming from overseas? The TV coverage here is always dodgy.
NBC schedule…
I had posted on the Dressage forum as well and petitefilly was kind enough to post this:

Agree with the above posters…excited to see the cross-country…the show jumping as well!
I JUST lost Oxygen. Damn.
the entire thing is going to be available live or well close to live online. this is the first year nbc is doing it. phelps sent out a thing saying how pleased usef was with the better coverage this year.
Well, MOST of it will be available and it’s the NBC FAMILY of channels including some not received by all systems and not included on various channel groupings purchased by consumers…like Oxygen for example. Certainly not ALL in HD as advertised as some of these channels are also not offered in HD on all systems.
There is no commitment to show anything in particular at any specific time during that big block of time and the network reserves the right to select what and when and on what channel as well as how much time to devote to it.
Perhaps they will get more specific as these events run and IF we medal, you bet we will see more. Maybe even know when ahead of time.
Otherwise, don’t count on much.
Unfortunately I will be in hotels for some of the time these will run and I can either set the DVR for the 6 hour blocks and spend an hour skimming it or take a chance the hotel will have the correct channel available…and Oxygen is not likely to be one of them, the others are in some but not anywhere near all hotels.
I’ll take the laptop and follow on COTH.
