I’m getting concerned for our 4 faulters.
McLain is sitting 25th… Laura 22nd… with a LOT of great riders and horse flesh to go.

Steinkraus and Chapot both competed in the saddle seat finals and I think at least one of them won the Good Hands equitation championship as juniors.

What a heartbreaking rail… the aerial view made it hard to see what happened. Looks like he got the front rail with his hind legs so maybe he got a little keen down that last line?
Either way what an absolutely amazing horse… that rail shocked me because he was literally nowhere near any of the other jumps. Obviously all of these horses have tremendous scope jumping around an Olympic track but Ilex seems to be on even another level to me, truly unreal scope on that horse.

Going out of order but commentator said Cian’s horse lost a shoe so should do his round
Without having to arrange and pay three different commentators for the disciplines an eventer does do all three. 
I quite like Lucinda, she’s certainly won at the top of the sport.
I’ll take her over Melanie any day.

Looking pretty clear we won’t see Ilex and McLain back tomorrow, which is disappointing given how fun that horse is to watch. But still keeping my fingers crossed Laura sneaks in…
