Online Tack Stores

Hello everyone! Out of curiosity, what are your favorite tack stores for English riders? Thanks!

Risingwarehouse. The selection is somewhat limited but the prices and customer service cannot be beat

Wilton Tack

Adams Horse Supplies. Excellent customer service, good selection, good sales via email offers. They will order what they do not have in stock such as special sizes in clothing.

I think TC meant Ridingwarehouse! Yes, great prices and customer service. Super fast too, if you are in California. Always my first place to look.

After that, SmartPak, Mary’s Tack and Dover probably have the best selection, but higher prices overall. Dressage Extensions is good for dressage specific items (duh!)

Riding Warehouse gets my vote every time. I also like The Cheshire Horse.

I detest SmartPak, Stateline, & Dover.

I use Riding Warehouse first. Of course I also use Dover and Smartpak sometimes. Another I like is JustForPonies, since I have ponies, and they make it easy to find pony stuff.

Oops yes that’s what I meant!

Love Smartpak.
I have started shopping at Ridingwarehouse after learning about it here and so far they have been excellent.

Thanks for sharing your opinions. I do love Riding Warehouse, Dover, and Smartpak! And as far as low prices, Stateline is a go-to for me.

I honestly google the product when I need something and find the lowest price. There are a lot of off brand companies that a bit cheaper and I never seem to have issues although I do try to find places that do Paypal. Blankets I try to do from Dover because of their return policy, but I don’t buy much else from them because their prices are not competitive enough.

Adams Horse Supply is good; Net Equestrian is not my go-to, but a place that has crazy good deals from time to time. I have also used Victory Canter, VTO Saddlery, and The Tack Room before.

Cheshire Horse in New England, DFW in Texas, Charlotte’s in Texas.

I found most of them selling on eBay first, then started buying direct.

Smartpak and Horze… I know Horze has some bad reviews, but they have had my breeches on sale quite often (saving $100+) and shipping has been very fast and I’ve never had issues with receiving the wrong size/color. I won’t use Dover or Stateline anymore due to very negative experiences.

I’ve only used SchniederSaddlery (sstack) once, but I had a great experience. I got my cooler in very quick and the cost was reasonable compared to other retailers. I also use English Tack Trader (facebook) and bought and sold a saddle on there… but you do have to be careful.

My big things are always shipping cost (and min order) and if there are costs to return.

Just to toot my own horn  I run a small online tack shop with a variety of brands that you won’t find in Dover. Since I have a day job that pays for the bils, the tack store is something I do on the side, so I typically discount most, if not all, orders, based on the items.

Riding Warehouse, Adams, SmartPak, Farm House Tack, and the Tack Room in Camden (this one https://www.tackroomonline.com/ not other similarly named ones!) are all favorites of mine.

I was playing around on that site trying to find what they happened to have on sale and stumbled onto the “Promotions” link at the very bottom. Every 30 days you can redeem 10% off (over $65). I haven’t compared prices so I don’t know how that stacks up, but since it was kind of hidden figured I’d share that.

SmartPak and Riding Warehouse are my usual go to’s. I’ve had good experience w/ VTO Saddlery, the Connected Rider and Centerline Style. I’m local to a Dover store so I tend to not order from them. I’m curious about https://www.bigdweb.com/ since their blankets are so cheap - anyone order from them?

I’ve ordered from Big Dee’s several times and have always had a good experience. That said, I haven’t needed to return anything, so I don’t know how much of a pain it would be.

I’ve learned the hard way that free returns or at least a prepaid label will make a huge difference from me in the future. Just bought some tall boots on sale from State Line and ordered the wrong size. Because SL is at the other end of the country from me, the cost of returning them through UPS or the PO would be about 30% of the price of the boots. I also likely won’t order from HorseLoverZ any more for that reason. The cost of returns is officially insane. Since I live in the hinterlands and have to buy most things online, I order a ton from Amazon and have been spoiled by their ease of returns!

I have a ton of sites that I usually price compare between. Some have already been mentioned, some not:

https://www.bigdweb.com
https://www.chicksaddlery.com
https://www.horseloverz.com
https://www.jefferspet.com
https://www.ridingwarehouse.com
https://www.sstack.com
https://www.victorycanter.com
https://www.vtosaddlery.com

There are a couple of things that I really prefer to buy from small, independent vendors, too. For example, I LOVE my sticky seat and buckwild breeches. For leather strap goods, I usually look for sales at five star tack, lund, eponia, or evoequine. (some of those ship from abroad.).
