Opinions on DHH crosses for jumping?

I just want to note, I went back and closely looked at these photos, her sales list, and her prior public posts from this year.

That top photo of the thin paint mare? I’m 95% certain now that is the mare “Never Have I Ever KG.” That mare was apparently born in 2018… so is only 5.5 years old! :anguished: She is apparently currently in foal to Royce. Per the sales list and Kate’s public Facebook, she had a 2023 foal by Casquino back in May, who was named “The Whole Nine Yards KG.” He is also currently for sale, priced at 15,000, and described as amateur friendly. Notes on Kate’s page say this mare also had a 2022 foal by Casquino, and it was sold to an eventer :woman_shrugging:

But just for the sake of noting it… the mare was born in 2018. So she was apparently first bred as a 3 year old in 2021, had a 2022 foal, immediately bred again, had a 2023 foal, and immediately bred again for a 2024 foal. She certainly did look a bit better in terms of condition in video Kate posted over the summer related to the 2023 colt (you can see the mare moving around in that video).

But here? She looks like a really malnourished older mare. Not a healthy 5 coming 6 year old. Look at the poor girl’s spine and hip bones, and lack of top line.

This all just makes my heart hurt. I hope someone nice buys this poor mare and takes the time to get her started under saddle or driving, so she can have a more full life of some kind, and not just be a part of a “foal mill” type operation.

Now Kate’s FB is completely private. It wasn’t earlier today.

Someone local to her should contact the authorities. The least we could do is try. We have proof and this thread is filled with educated equestrians and photos of what a mare and foal should look like.

I can still see all the recent posts. Would she have blocked you?

The lack of muscling on the 5 year old mare is truly sad. It looks like not only do these poor mares get no food, they also get zero exercise or attention.

Hundreds of posts behind, but thanks a million for sharing this! My concern with my last lessee was I would not have ponies in poor condition on my land. It turned out not to be an issue, but in future, I will be writing this into any leases. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I don’t know why, but this had not occurred to me.

I call BS. On what kind of cut-rate airline is that a First Class seat? I’ve seen more leg room in economy bulkhead. This looks like a regular economy bulkhead in a smaller aircraft, not even domestic business class. And that they are service dogs. So many lies.

[/quote] if thats a service dog, why none of the dog coat and equipment? Probably the angle, but that dog doesn’t look thrifty, either. But how is that a service dog?

because, lies

This person is a monster and really does need stopped. She should never be allowed to have animals of any species. The poor dogs and horses. :sob:

What’s not to like about this fine animal? From her KG Kennels and Sporthorses FB.

These poor creatures. Where will they end up?

Another note on the western alfalfa, where I am, in the SW, near a big river and lots of alfalfa growers, most horse owners here use it as a supplemental calorie source, and buy grass hay as the foundation forage.
I mean, it’s locally inexpensive (I got mine from the field) but so is local grass hay. Everyone here wants that nice Colorado Timothy, btw.

Hmmm. I looked at this business page - I wasn’t aware of it.

She’s been breeding a lot for a number of years, and not feeding adequately is definitely a theme. As is misrepresentation of DHH as “KWPN.” They might be registered with KWPN, but a few years ago it looks like she was advertising horses that were 100% harness bred as riding type warmbloods. That’s annoying and deceptive.

It looks like this particular DHH was back from 2020. Here is her sales pitch…

“ Lovely 2yo kwpn Dutch Warmblood gelding. Will end up 16.2 or so (bigger than I originally thought). Loves to jump, but also has a huge elastic shoulder and active hock for dressage. Huge personality and eager to please. Ideal event prospect or jumper, but will dominate as a dressage horse as well. Handled by kids and very very easy!!! Will be headed to get backed end of this year so grab him now! As you can see even when he gets himself into a predicament he is chill. Big goofball! In AZ.”

She included this “predicament” picture in the sales ad… :astonished:

I guess it was supposed to be evidence of his great temperament? But… what a bizarre choice to include a picture like this in a sale ad.

Anyway… this guy sure looks like a young harness horse. Look at his neck and the way it connects to his shoulder. Look at his natural head carriage at the trot when at liberty. Look at the way his hind leg trails. All of this might be fine or even desirable in a harness horse. I honestly don’t know - am just guessing. But for an eventing, jumping or dressage prospect? None of this is desirable. Her ad is total BS.

Hopefully he landed in a good home and people fed him more.

Claiming your pet is a service dog just infuriates me. I can not even find the words to express my anger over this.

From yesterday. And funny how, after being called out on poor care, horses start to gain weight when they are actually fed. They still have a long way to go to be healthy.

And after looking at her dog pics…I see a lot of GSPs in my business. She hasn’t got a clue. Mediocre structure at best. And trying to pass one off as a service dog…how much lower can she go?

Its my understanding that included in her “super brilliant business plan” is to lease property. I have to assume in looking at this property she gets the cheapest she can find. So these poor mares who have been overbred/overharvested are treated so poorly.

Odd. She wouldn’t have any idea who I am and I only heard of her because of this thread. I’ve only looked at her profile a couple of times, so I don’t know…but it now says she has 2 friends and her profile picture is of the dog and background picture of a sad bay horse.

That is not what I am seeing for her personal page.

No, that’s still open

But I’ve found a third page that is Kate Shearer digital creator that seems dormant but has rants about other people who claim she doesn’t pay them from a while back

So that’s three public FB sites so far counted.

She may have more. I have no trouble getting into any of them. There may be a fourth fifth or sixth private site out there as well. It’s fairly common for people with drama and background crisis to run multiple FB groups or start and stop them.

When dressage calls for high headed, german shepherd for favored confirmation and movement, I will scoop him right up! Also might need a chainsaw for that under neck muscle.

The main sadness here, is these horses are junk. Square pegs in a round hole. They will end up throw aways at the end. Here’s to hoping she just lets them go to good homes for basic riding and maybe local showing. All those poor mares look like a midwestern feedlot waiting for the big truck. so unbelievably sad .

She has at least 2 personal accounts and the KG account. There are probably more.

Yep. It’s very sad.
