Opinions on DHH crosses for jumping?

Yes, I understand how ICSI works. Just because it’s possible, doesn’t mean it’s probable, which was the point people were trying to make about the Nabob foals in utero.

It was for those who perhaps are not aware of how ICSI works, or that it can utilize terrible semen to create pregnancies.

I’m not sure why this is being disputed by posters?
Semen purification is the huge benefit using ICSI. The result is that only the best sperm are used to fertilize the oocytes. This option is absolutely essential for stallions where the quality of the semen is questionable. The quality of the mare’s oocytes also plays into the overall result.

I can think of reasons there aren’t a lot of NA horses by the stallion.

Just because it caught my eye: the KS youngster is trotting; the Marguerite Henry horse is pacing.

Please take a closer look.

As I said before and learned from Good Horsenen.

Put them down.

When you take on a malnourished, not wormed youngster, you will put your heart and soul into the horse. All your time and money and one day the horse will go down and nothing the vets do will help. You will lose everything.

Now that was taught to me a long time ago and medicine has come a long time since then but as with any horse, you put your heart and soul and time and money into it, so start with a healthy horse and the conformation that will help.

You can not save everything horse. Do the best for you. JMHO.

??? The top horse is moving diagonal pairs simultaneously; the bottom horse is moving the same side front/rear. What am I missing?
Oh no he’s not! My mistake. Mea culpa.

Right.

I probably skimmed too fast then. No need to pile on LOL

These horses are hardly in the condition where euthanasia is necessary. While I wouldn’t give them a bucket of grain they don’t look to need a special re feeding program.

Yes, I was thinking fraudulent misrepresentation or deceit. Contract would work too.

Jeezus, is this for real? I’ve been around lots of different aspects of the horse world, not just the realm of high dollar warmbloods sales. My tb. was probably a body score of 3 when I bought him back in the day, I’ve volunteered at rescues where all sorts of sad cases come in, my friend has adopted a few extremely thin mares and foals from the rez, the list goes on and on (unfortunately, but this is the real world). Of course it is possible that they could have some serious health issues but I would bet they would be perfectly fine in no time at all with simple basic proper care.

I get that this Kate person seems to have mental health issues, does not take proper care of her horses and has delusions of sporthorse grandeur, but some of the people posting here are just so over the top…these horses are not worthless and they don’t require euthanasia. Jeezus

The big unknown with a rescue or upgrade horse, is whether the poor condition is due to lack of calories or to a disease process. From my observation it’s nearly always lack of calories.

The photo of the foal that arrived I am talking about. No worming, not fed correctly in the womb or afterwards. Yes they were serious. As I said, spend your heart soul, time and money on something else.

The mares that she has starved after they have had a good start to life, yes they have a chance.

Their best bet is to get away from her.

With her delusions I don’t see that happening I fear this is going to continue.

So, did her horses sell? Is she out of the breeding business as promised? I certainly hope so. The sight of those poor beasts, esp the exhausted mare lying in filth next to her filth-covered aborted foal is heartbreaking. Honestly, that is an image that will haunt forever.

Anyone who could have all this go on on their watch is cruel and ignorant in the extreme.

I saw her posting the semen straws for sale in a warmblood breeding group - a verrrrrrry experienced breeder asked about the partial straws and whether they’d been thawed and refrozen for ICSI (because apparently even experienced repro vets don’t want to work with them after that) and KS mouthed off at her and insinuated that she was an idiot if she couldn’t decipher what the post meant. It went about As well as you’d expect :woman_facepalming:

She also made a post wondering how Arby’s can run out of roast beef. If her horses had hands, they’d make the same post about her, except about hay.

Nice.

Sadly, I don’t think any of her horses have sold. From what I see going on with a few friends who sell quite a bit of youngstock, the market has softened considerably. Especially for horses that have not been started under saddle.

I’m really concerned about what this situation is going to be like when spring arrives. I don’t see this ending well for the horses involved. Especially if Kate refuses to drop her prices SUBSTANTIALLY.

This is looking quite bleak for the horses.
Just do the math.
Here in Central Fl., alfalfa is running . 40/lb. for 100 lb. bale.
20-25 lb. per day per horse is
5-6,000 per month plus barn rent
plus labor.
I’ll bet she’s bleeding $10-12,000
per month easily.
That’s unsustainable on a braider’s wage.
My guess is she probably inherited a chunk and has pretty much gone through most of it.
She needs a quick fire sale to save this.
