While I like whatever name he ends up with, I like the name Uno because it’s almost Uncle and he is “the one” who stole Kinda Kooky and MNick’s hearts… and most of ours… and is the one who looks after the reservation foals.

I love Aslan but already have an Ambrose. Part of the problem is I sold horses and ponies in another life and have used all my favorites and clever ones. Recycling names feels tacky.

And I plan on having to live with this name for a long time, so the pressure is real.

I think he needs a foal too, it’s Mr. Kooky who thinks he does not. I keep showing him the pictures but he hasn’t cracked yet.

There are some really really pretty babies that are still available in Fort Worth and a little older. I will gladly hop on a FaceTime to find the perfect one! You need TWO babies to ease the pain of horses getting older I would brace yourself for the name he chooses…the majestic days are coming but they haven’t arrived yet

Psh, I accidentally ended up with Ernie and Fern(ie) without considering the similarity. Of course, Ernie also gets called Ernest, Ernesto, Erno…

Hopefully he tells Nancy he has a name he likes. Years ago I talked to an AC about a horse I had, and he told her that he didn’t like his name from before because it was insulting (it was Moose, presumably because he had kind of a long head). I’d already given him a new name by that time and he said he was fine with the new one.

For Uncle’s name- Point Sur, after the lighthouse, and you could call him Wilson at home (as suggested upthread.) He’s a guiding light in these kids’ young lives.

New Guy needs a MINI ME!!

I really hope he’s got a name he likes (or some ideas) and wants to keep so Kinda Kooky doesn’t have to decide . A friend and I rescued a horse (same one from the insulting name situation) and ended up calling him “big boy” - because he was gigantic - for about 3 years before I finally gave him an actual name.

Maybe he’s “Guy” of the french pronunciation?

@Heinz_57 I had a Tiny Boy (he wasn’t tiny ). Have you seen Galaxy Quest? I always picture the aliens saying Guy worth watching just for that!

Baymare is unique and sounds like it could be straight out of Pride and Prejudice Lady Baymare.
