Orphan Res Foals

OMG… I am so sorry to read this. Why are your friends not covering the cost of the surgery their dog caused?

I am so sorry. I have the same question as luvmyhackney. The responsible dog’s owners should be paying for this.

She’s a new single, foster adopt mom of two kids and one of my best friends. There’s not a simple solution for this one :sob: save my dog, mend a long long friendship and forgive I guess. Having a really hard time processing.

I know people have different processes with money, but pay for it with a credit card if you can. Giving up your horse you will regret. Paying interest in a credit card is not fun, but at least you will have your horse to remind you why you took on the debt that way.

Oh my goodness. That is some break. Your poor dog.

Care Credit? Leasing Jake instead of selling?

I’m so sorry! Sending jingles for both of you!

A friend would figure out how to pay for this, and would NEVER leave you holding the bag.

Im just saying.

I am so sorry. Maybe you or someone you know can set up a Go Fund Me page?

If you can pay off the balance in 6mos it’s interest free.
I’ve used mine for up to $1800+ worth of vet bills.
It’s a lifesaver.

Im sorry your friend is in such straits, but has she even offered to pay even a part of your expenses?
Did her dog have a history of aggression. been offleash with your dog before?

Also want to point out that your friend is capable of looking into all these payment plans, too, instead of saying “too bad, I can’t be responsible for what my own dog did.”

Hugs to you from Colorado. Hang in there.

a best friend would find a way to pay for the vet bill.

Care credit is great. I used it to cover part of my SX.

What is the total for the SX for your dog?

Oh no! :sob: If it’s not one thing, it’s another. I’m sorry.

:weary: you’re right. You’re right on every level (maybe other than leasing Jake in a quarter horse town :joy:).

Its so overwhelming….Its a really bad fracture with open wounds and a very fragile situation. Trying to navigate this as best as I can but WOW, way to show up on COTH with encouragement, advice and the willingness to just listen to one another on here :raised_hands:t4:

Bruno is a trooper and so long as I stay still he stays still. I should have some pretty decent arm muscles by the end of this! I went the GoFundMe route and people showed up in a big way :sob: and my incredible animal loving aunt is so generously pitching in as well. Bruno is a 3 year old Aussie. He is a pain in the a$$ but he is just my best friend through and through!

We go in tomorrow to rewrap, check for infection and go over the cost of surgery for Tuesday 🫠 praying it’s under $3500

Edited to add that I just realized how long his nails are :joy: this is why I need to wear my glasses more. Off to clip nails!

I hope she has a good attorney to help her though all this. It’s a bad way to be a foster pant who can’t afford emergencies.

Jingles for your little asshole buddy. Thats our young vizsla - constantly getting into predicaments and making me go grey, but I love her to bits!

Share your gofundme here, if you feel comfortable. Or pm me, or what have you.

I believe that the foster care system in most states pays for medical care and emergencies for fosters (if we are talking about people, not animals.)

From MNick’s posts, I don’t expect she will be taking legal action against her friend.

You have such a kind and loving heart. I have a pain in the butt dog, too, but gosh I adore him.

When Bruno has his surgery, will the vet also be removing that feline growth from his back?

Please PM me your go fund me if you don’t or cannot share it here.
