You got it @MNick!
Let me preface this with my mother was a clairvoyant and I spent my whole wildling phase trying to outsmart it with no success. I lived with it and can tell you it’s a real thing.
I asked Nancy Walker to please speak to the “New Guy” as we have been calling him. We wanted to give him reassurances and ask some questions of course about his past and if he has a NAME.
She started with asking him if he had a name. He didn’t. They called him all sorts of not nice things.
He told her he was very handsome, very very handsome and we could call him that if we want. She agreed with him on the looks
and explained we were working on the perfect name.
He said they tortured him at the vet place
she said they did not. He was insistent. He also said it was weird to talk to her this way.
She asked if he would like to stay with the foals or continue to his permanent home. He said he would like to stay because he is taking care of the foals.
He had questions about the permanent home, She explained they are going to permanent homes and he is helping them grow up.
She told him he is going to his permanent home too and he asked “are they kind and is she a lady?” She assured him of both things. He said MNick is very kind to him.
She told him about the trailer and upcoming journey. He was concerned about the trip, and had questions about if other horses are going, will there be food and water, how big is the trailer. How long is the trip? Reassurances were made and Equine Express will have a nice big box stall for him when the time comes.
She asked him about why he was hesitant with his feet. He showed her that several men with black hats eared him and pinned him against the wall to do his feet. They twerked his back feet when they picked them up. Guys with black hats. They just made things happen to him, didn’t teach him. Not a lot of food.
He told her firmly no men and no hats!
She told him a kind farrier was going to work on him and he asked if he would be hit by the rasp and she said absolutely not.
His right shoulder is a little achy, nothing serious just a bit sore. His front angles are off to him.
She asked my horse Ambrose to be kind and show him the ropes when he gets here, and he said sure! At that moment he raised his head from eating and looked like he was thinking. She said he’s a very happy horse and what a willing guy, which is completely accurate.
She said New Guy is an absolute sweetheart and the Amish didn’t ruin that. He likes his walks and feels loved. He knows he is needed by the foals. She can feel he is going to be a big horse. And thinks he really wants to learn things. Just very concerned with kind treatment and food…no mention of a sweet Amish girl loving him, sadly!
So as you all can see,

“Handsome Guy” is becoming a front runner in the name race, much to my dismay.
It’s better than say… “Pumpernickel” or “Volkswagen” or “Table” but not by much.
