Our favorite dressage master's horse on a OTTB sale site

I think that’s the difference between the Maestro and many of the rest of us. I don’t ride well. I’m old, fat, and well past “middle aged” (unless I live to 120). But I continue to take lessons and try to improve. I’m probably qualified to teach up/down lessons. I’m never going to the Olympics unless it’s to sit in the stands. I know my limitations and would never try to pass myself off as anything more than an advanced beginner. And that’s OK.

NP is a delusional charlatan who cons unsuspecting people out of good money and may also damage their horses while he’s at it. That isn’t OK.

OMG…I read that as “for a feel” - I was even more grossed out.

There have been people who claim that he asked them to accept sex with him for training rides. I don’t know that its true, but I have run into more than one person who said it to me privately in pms, who don’t know each other, and their story was so similar to the others’ that I suspected it to be true.

My own personal suspicions about that stuck in a corner thing is that Nick actually took the horse to the corner, and was trying to get the mare to piaffe into the wall, which he has described as a training technique specifically. The poor woman may have assumed he was stuck, the mare not responding to him, he spurring or kicking the horse, and walked over to “rescue” him from the corner, without him having shown the woman the piaffe he thought he would get. That’s what I think he was doing in the corner. That’s my own personal take on that moment. The poor woman had no idea she had just witnessed Nick training her horse to piaffe!! IMO.

Yeah, but no.

The thread is here: https://www.chronofhorse.com/forum/forum/discussion-forums/dressage/259437-nick-peronace-dressage

From the thread. <<snipped>>

I apologize in advance for bringing up an “old Thread” however, it was brought to my attention after the original thread was closed and I feel my encounter with Mr. Peronace could save unsuspecting people from being taken advantage of.

I want to take this opportunity to announce that I am NOT affiliated with Nick Peronace Dressage in any way, shape or form! Mr. Peronace applied to my farm for a “trainers” position back in November 2013. He was barely qualified to talk about riding and training in person, yet perform a service. I did put him on a young horse (6) who tested him, and he failed. He actually could not get the horse to walk around the indoor and I had to “rescue” him in the corner. This was after he asked myself and a trainer to put his spurs on for him! After going to get him and leading him back to the end of the ring, he asked me to get on the horse, and I granted his request. I showed him how to make the mare walk, trot and canter. He declined getting back on her and opted to put her on a lunge-line. I politely told him the interview was over, thanked him for his time and said good bye. The very next day he sent me a proposal to work at my farm for $500/week and train as many horses as I could give him, and he would “train” my horse for free. When I declined his offer, he became irate to the point I had to hang up the phone because of his vulgar comments. Never in all my experience in this business have I been spoken to in that manner by a so-called “professional.” I was raised where men did not speak to women in that manner. He even went so far as to call back and leave a very unprofessional message on my voice mail. If anyone has any doubt of my encounter, there were 2 VERY reputable trainers working here on that day who experienced Mr. Peronace’s “performance” I also saved the voice mail because it is so hard to believe this even occurred.

He has since posted photos of my farm on his Facebook page and attempted to use my farm for personal gain. When I requested he remove the photos as they were taken and used by him without my permission, he blocked me from his page. I have now consulted with an attorney. Please do your homework as he is persistently “cold calling” farms to host clinics. He is now offering them for “Free” Please beware. I have also forwarded correspondence to Dressage at Devon CEO and President and they are now aware, as well as other very big named trainers who’s names he has been throwing around.

I feel the horse community is so small, and tightly woven that we all have to watch each others backs in order to keep scammers such as this out.

I don’t think he’ll ever let go of that poor mare. I just had the strangest thing happen… He posted her for sale in a local fb group we are in because I’m local to him. Someone asked for her JC name and he responded that he didn’t know. I commented to the person inquiring with her JC name.

He immediately got confrontational and asked how I knew him. I responded, honestly, that I am local and so knew the horse and that her JC name was pretty easy to look up.

He then messaged me a fairly long diatribe about how he was blocking me because of my creepy, stalkerish behavior, amongst some other things, like referring to her ‘hypothetical’ race name… (spoiler: it was her real JC name.)

Sadly, he’s so paranoid and incompetent, I fear he can’t even give the horse away (because his paranoia won’t let him.)

Oh I think he’s super creepy, back when he was new on the scene and we were all aghasted.

I simultaneously think that you’d have to find and read what he writes, and then be invested enough to report on, to repost, to track his creepiness again and again…and that’s where it gets a little- weird. Shrug. I mean don’t we all know locals who are coocoo for cocoa puffs? writing about him feeds his ego and that’s not something you’d think you’d want to feed LOL

‘Find isn’t hard… he’s on several of the Facebook pages I am on.
And ‘report and post’… well, like the locals you know are cuckoo for cocoa puffs in your area, well he’s in my Facebook area, so… there ya’ go. Not much difference.

Maybe if someone wanted to give the mare a soft place to land, they could just go there and agree with almost everything he says if that would help buy her.

Just a thought.

I hate seeing horses victims of not smart owners.

Please note that I was quoting a previous post from quite some time ago in Post #123. That quoted post is from the linked thread, which was from Jan 8, 2014.

Just wanted to clarify it was not my post.

A number have tried, including myself, but he’s as clueless, lazy and difficult about selling as he is about everything else.

Yep I know, it just deserved another round of applause.

Very strange that he would deny that he knows her JC name when it was the name he bought her under in her FB ad. Maybe he forgot it.

![]( had no idea he was such a big mover and shaker in the DoD world, and selfless philanthropist within his own community. I guess you learn something new every day.

"Flashback to when I collected donations for a therapeutic riding center. When I did this I wasn’t currently riding or teaching. Ironically this was when I reconnected with a very powerful and influential friend with strong connections to Dressage At Devon. She asked what ever happened to Chevy (my Grand Prix Horse I trained). Retired from riding herself, she felt I needed to be recognized as a trainer and even though Chevy never competed, she was willing to use her influence to help make him known.

She gave me the phone numbers I needed and put me in touch with the right people. Together we created “Chevys Cup” that was awarded to the highest scoring non-warm blood at Devon for three years in a row!

Being at Devon (I hadn’t been in over a decade) on such a big stage and honoring Chevy (I never wanted the trophy to be about me, I hate arrogance) was surreal. He finally got his moment! I’ve ridden horses at all levels and the best bloodlines in the world, but Chevy (who was an appaloosa quarter horse) remains my all time favorite.

Deeply involved in other charity work and helping my community has earned me a very prestigious award myself, and I was (still am) forever grateful. I passionately believe in leaving the world a better place than how we found it and believe that is the true meaning of life.

On the flip side of good is the forces of evil. You can’t help people and accomplish amazing task without gaining the Devil’s attention.
Because we both had been out of the horse world for so long, we had no knowledge of how incurably evil the dressage world has gotten. I had no idea of the abuse and down right psychotic behavior that Chevys Cup would bring to my life. I’ve been stalked, harassed, cyberbullied and mocked ever since. My supporters all have been equally abused and because of that, it’s difficult to gain clientele.

I used to think it was jealousy but I’ve learned that it is much more sinister than that. It is down right evil.

As The Bible says “The truth shall set you free.” The truth is that every person I train or work with gets positive results. Often I gain results no other trainer could and you can watch video testimonial or read their comments right on this page. The truth is that I have pictures and eye witnesses to everything I’ve ever claimed to have done with Chevy. The truth is my horse Carpathia is doing great and has achieved in two years what my cyber harassers haven’t been able to accomplish in a lifetime! The truth is that while I understand not everyone is going to agree with my methods or like my riding , I have continuously invited my critics to work with me yet they refuse but I don’t refuse to work with them. That speaks volumes about their credibility and agenda.

Sorry for the rant[IMG]https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/f6f/2/16/1f602.png)
