Our favorite dressage master's horse on a OTTB sale site

Yes, the whole interaction was very strange, but I felt it was relevant to the thread which is why I posted. I’ve never spoken a word against him publicly, (at least until I called him so incompetent at selling the mare that he can’t even give her away, but that was based directly on my observation of my personal interaction with him.) In fact, I tried to respond to his (super insulting) message, to try and start a dialogue, but he’d already blocked me. I was basically just trying to point out that 1. The info I supplied was relevant to a potential purchaser. 2. I’d known her JC name from prior, and that it was something I’d also asked for from OTTBs I’d looked at to purchase myself. 3. I genuinely thought the information was pertinent and helpful. 4. I know the mare because we show at the horse park as well. 5. The information is all publicly available. 6. I’d simply responded to a public post in a public forum. 7. I had no malicious intent when I joined the public conversation he started.

I’d been briefly interested in her myself, but after seeing his multiple sales posts, it was clear to me that I wouldn’t be able to get anywhere with him.

The whole interaction was simply weird and left me pretty uncomfortable, especially when you consider that what I added to his sale post is easily googleable, and I was more than willing to try to have a conversation with him.:no:

"The truth is my horse Carpathia is doing great and has achieved in two years what my cyber harassers haven’t been able to accomplish in a lifetime! "

Pretty sure I, and just about everyone else here, could hop on any horse, park my hands in my crotch, slump like a slack of flour, and have the horse poking along on its forehand in no time at all. But why would I want to?

Aaaaand, seems like the mare has sold, I really hope she has a great home now, wish her new owner all the best…now let’s hope that the maestro takes up flower arranging or something for his new hobby.

It is with great pride that I announce Carpathia has been sold to a forever home!

Her new rider is wanting to learn Dressage and looking for a new horse to spoil with treats! She has a very large turnout with acres of grass to run and play on, and trees to stay under for shade. Her stall is modern built and large with lots of new horse friends around her. It’s a horsey heaven!

Working with this sweet mare everyday was an absolute joy. My kids loved riding her and she was always gentle and patient with them. Carpathia came to me two years ago as a children’s lesson horse and is leaving now schooling FEI. The horse is a Piaffe machine today! She came to me skinny and weak and is leaving thick with a powerful developed neck! Her canter was fast, unbalanced and out of control. Now her canter is smooth, easy and collected. Carpathia now also understands self carriage.
I couldn’t be prouder of the training.

From day one her great mind impressed me. Friends and students who have ridden her, all say they can feel the training put into her. Many have said they’ve never ridden such a light horse before. Yes it’s true that she always tried very hard to learn new things, but now it’s her turn to teach the rider what she knows. Myself as the trainer, this is the ultimate compliment of a job well done!

2 years ago I announced I had started training her. I proclaimed that I’d train her to 4th Level and beyond. I hadn’t trained a horse to Grand Prix since Chevy, and I really felt Carpathia would be my next. Unfortunately life, my family, my job and other circumstances prevented that and I had to make the difficult decision to sell.

I did exactly what I originally said I was going to do with this horse. While my supporters congratulated and encouraged me along the journey, there were (and always will be) a handful of arm chair Dressage masters mocking us along the way. Well nothing makes me happier then proving my haters wrong! Not only do those critics refuse to work with me (while I don’t refuse to work with them) but not a single one legitimately contacted me to come ride her. For reasons known only to them selves, they chose to hide behind a computer screen and cyber bully instead of actually sitting in the saddle and showing me what they could do better.

I named this horse Carpathia because that was the ship who saved the survivors from the Titanic. Looks like Carpathia not only saved me by legitimizing me as a trainer, but simultaneously discredits every negative thing ever said about me, her, or the training involved. Carpathia was able to accomplish in just two years what my critics haven’t been able to accomplish in a lifetime!

Thanks to Carpathia, my supporters have been greatly increased. People have watched my training videos with her or seen our pictures and so they booked me for a clinic or a block of lessons. They contacted me and I allowed them to ride her in which they were always impressed! I’ll forever be grateful for what this horse has done for my reputation.
Carpathia saved another survivor…

Working with a horse so intensely it’s needless to say that a special bond was formed. 2 years ago I announced that I had started training her. But I don’t cry because it’s over, I smile because it happened!

the loons are out again I see.

Great news. I wish her new owner all the very best with that patient saint of a mare.

I really hope it’s a legitimate sale and he didn’t just dump her at auction because he couldn’t afford her anymore.

Based on the flowery unnecessary details about her “modern” stall I would not be surprised if this is what happened. I would bet that he ran her through under her jc name and that’s why he didn’t want it published.

There is a poster on the Dressage thread that says the horse indeed made a soft landing with a new owner without going through the auctions.

There are two posters I believe in the dressage forum who confirmed that she did indeed find a good home, and they ensure that she will be well taken care of. Even better, they aren’t newly created accounts but long term members. Glad she found her soft landing!

I always wondered if that was why he always claimed he didn’t know her jc name, so he could run her through an auction if he needed to. But how odd to do that, when everyone knows it, and its on YouTube in her old owner’s vids, so its not a big secret. HOWEVER! Not to worry, shalomypony has insisted she knows the new owner, and its a lovely soft landing for her, so everyone is relieved, I’m sure, to hear that! I know I am. Such a nice horse will make a lovely horse for a kind owner and kind rider.

I hope she got a good home in a sale and not an auction. When he lowered the price to 5000 I messaged him but he did not email me back. I did not call his # due to what others have said happened when they called him.
