Does anyone else have a sneaking suspicion that perhaps the USEF might have people reading this board as well?

According to the latest Equestrian, PV has been found guilty of violating GR702.1a, d, g;GR703.1b and GR704.1
“While suspended, he participated in Licensed Competitions as a trainer and/or coach by directing… members of this Federation … to train or coach … on his behalf…”
As a result he “shall remain not in good standing and…continue to be expelled and suspended for at least 3 years commencing June 18 2007, and indefinitely thereafter.”
and further
“The Hearing Committee … retains jurisdiction for at least three years, and no sooner than June 18, 2010, can Valliere apply for reinstatement…”
Ther is no mention of action against the members of the Federation who “trained on his behalf”. But maybe that is coming soon.
BTW, hearing apparently took place in APRIL 2007, well before this thread was started.
LOVE IT!
Wonder how they are going to go about identifying those who “help” him coach?

THANK YOU USEF, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
THAT certainly might make me renew my membership.
cheering and clapping for the Hearing Committee:yes:
I gotta say… I SOOOO did the happy dance when I read the back of Equestrian! There is a little hope left in the world!
Now, what can we little folk do to get the rest of the scum suspended for helping the little turd? (where is that vomit icon when you need it?)

Word of mouth and physically matching the riders to his on-site contact(s) and those working at his farm is how they nailed him before. It’s not really hard to bust him for what he’s doing. It’s just a matter of coordination and logical thinking. Two things we know the USEF doesn’t have in great amounts but I believe they could do it if they really really wanted to. Right now, the fact that they keep banning him is a PR move but he has found ways both in the system and on his own from keeping his name on any of the entries. When he tried to stay in the game back in the late 90’s I think it was, he failed because the USEF did the math and figured out exactly what it was he was doing by putting someone else’s name on it who was a bit too close to him but not immediately recognizable to the people dealing with the show entries.
What a wonderful role model he is.
(here is your vomit icon)
Prior to his legal problems my daughter rode in a number of clinics w/ him. We loved him. He is a very talented & wonderful teacher. However, he made his living off of the backs of defenseless animals. He was involved in a crime against the same animals that he was caring for. He should not now, nor should he ever be trusted again. I know that he is a friendly & likeable man, but so was the BTK killer & so was Ted Bundy. He committed the crime & he must now serve the punishment that he so sorely deserves to receive. I am sure that he is very sorry for what he did. Most criminals are sorry once they are caught! Please don’t be fooled.

Thank you finally some words of wisdom. I just can’t believe those people that are still taking instruction from him. To me they are just as bad as he is
So far he has only been sorry he got caught
It is because he is so deceptive in the use of his talent that his crime is eI know that he is a friendly & likeable man, but so was the BTK killer & so was Ted Bundy. Well said; it is because he is so talented and he is very comfortable bragging about his succeses that his crime is more heinous. I hope the USEF will follow thourgh and penalize his clients as well. They shouldn’t be too hard to identify when so many have taken out ads to say Thank You.
This is a step in the right direction and if they follow through with the other convicted felons perhaps it will end this malaise about the inevitability of corruption in this sport.Stealing horses was a Federal Capital Crime and resulted in hanging. I think expulsion from USEF is a minor punishment but one long overdue.
Is Elite still on here? If so, what do you think of what PV did compared to what the Peterson man did (look at the other thread about the conviction of the man who killed a horse in Texas).
Was what Peterson did horrible? If you think it wasn’t, ok. But if you think it was, why then not PV? Was it ok for PV because it was for money and not for “an adventure”?
I’m really interested to know.
I agree with those who said earlier that Elite is amoral:

I don’t approve of what he did at all…but he is an absolutely fabulous trainer.
She had to ask the question. We didn’t have to respond to the stupid question. I can’t believe that this thread is on here.
This thread is still on here & is still actively viewed because the crime was against the very animals that most of us love to own, ride, show & care for. There is a fool born everyday & a new customers are also born everyday. There are people who have not heard of PV’s crimes. They need to know what & who they are dealing with. We need to shine the light of day on anyone who would act in a cruel or criminal way to these wonderful & trusting animals. Please don’t complain because people are still outraged by his past behavior.

organizations like the RM scholarship take the winner and send them over to PV’s barn for equitation lessons?
Is this true?! I’m stunned. How could this have happened? Or is this like the “riding PV’s horse” thing, and it’s not true?

It is true. PV does have a lot of supporters at the upper levels of the show world due his “skill” and social connections to certain people in the USEF and of course the FL show whores. He uses every chance he gets outside the shows to push his reinstatement with their help and that is just one of the instances. As has been discussed before in this thread, there are a few well known and influential people who are quietly pushing the USEF to give him full reinstatement and a sort of public “welcome home” type show of support so he can get some sort of faux redemption in the eyes of the equestrian community but we know they won’t do that while the memory of his crimes is fresh and his opposition is strong. It all sickens me but given the people involved it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. At the very least it shows why we need to take the sport in a different direction in this country.
Paul no longer has any top notch riders at his barn, nor has he since he was set down years ago. Name one rider who has ribboned at the finals or even made the call back list. The two kids who have driven to ride weekly with him this summer I suspect ride with local trainers and by comparison when they return home, their trainers say wow! Nothing against backyard trainers, but by comparison a couple of lessons with Paul will certainly improve their riding. If they trained with Missy or Frank etc., I highly doubt there would be any wow. They just have never had lessons with a good trainer that’s all. As far as Slainte and just how wonderful Paul treats grooms and clients alike, how come every last groom and in house rider (8 or 9 I think) left Paul’s barn last year? I mean every last one of them. Was it because he was so “good” to his help. I doubt it. Talk to some of his former help, and they’ll tell you just how “wonderful” Paul was to his help. Hardly a coincidence that everyone left.
The word is out and he has a pretty second-rate staff working for him now. I know a couple of grooms he tried to hire who heard all the rumors and wouldn’t work for him under any circumstances. The world is round: what goes around comes around. Just my opinion.
As they say…time wounds all heels.
