snork two…
Really the education system has gone downhill…
More like down a mountain in some parts…

You clearly didn’t read my post fully. He warned us BEFORE I rode the horse that there might be something going on but it might be just from scratches (she had those too and wasn’t lame on it), LOWERED the price significantly, and then LOWERED it by half. If he just wanted to get rid of the horse and let somebody else find out I think he would have been smart enough to just say that the swelling was from the scratches don’t you think? The horse wasn’t on consignment, it was imported by him.
Well, were it my horse, I would not have “warned” you…if I didn’t know what was wrong I would never let anyone ride my horse. Further more if I were trying a horse I would not ride a horse with something “going on”
Did it occur to you that it might be incorrect to ride a horse without knowing for sure it was nothing? But then again you are defending him, right?
When did Paul NOT own Acres Wild? When he was a junior? He has owned it as long as I can remember and I can remember the 70’s.
You don’t work for him you don’t get yourself suspended. Let me rephrase that, you can work for him, just don’t bring one of his horses to a USEF show. Did you know stewards represent the USEF? They have always enforced the rules, that is what they are there for.
It is not our abilities that make us who we are but our choices.
you all know this happened 20+/- years ago? And it was endemic in the industy-not just Paul Vallier?. And even some of our big GP riders who skated by from the net that went out are guilty?
When are those of you who post this thread every fall going to get on with your lives? Quit being a pawn of the few who have an personal business agenda.
Yes, this happened a long time ago. That does not diminish its importance in terms of industry ethics for those who are concerned with such things.
I helped the amazing people on this board who put together the No Reinstatement effort with some media relations. I did so not because I’ve got a business agenda – I ride solely for my own joy and am a one horse, low budget type – but because what PV did was WRONG and it should not be forgotten.
Life has choices, and choices come with consequences. Some of those consequences are permanent. PV made his choice, and now he should face permanent consequences. In another industry he would be banned from remaining at all; in horses, he simply stays outside the fence. He has not honored the spirit of the consequences, and those who choose to support him show that they value ribbons more than what is right. I don’t, and that’s why “getting on with my life” - a life which these days fortunately does include a horse - means also never letting what PV did be seen as acceptable.
Sorry, but some things are forever.

You’re not only bad with grammar, but your offensive with your insults.
Ignore it Bug. He also goes by the name Timothy Hay on other boards. Just laugh at his clowning around. Retarded and using “your” instead of “you’re” is his trademark.
I second these sentiments whole-heartedly. Well put, HH!
And, thanks for the update, Janet.

Yellow was referring to me - Yeth, I am [“foolish”] for not spotting that this thread was started a year ago and I read the whole darned thing without realizing it. ( I am currently reading the book, Hot Blood, so kept reading.) What a waste of time.
Still a rather rude troll popped up from under the bridge - again.
good move for pv
His move to Ocala will be a good one…HITS will not care if he is allowed on the grounds and the stewards are in Toms’ pocket so it will not be reported.
Yes, I am well aware that there are plenty of others who were not caught. Far more people cheat on their income taxes than get caught. But that does not change the consequences for those that are caught.
But “this” (the reason I posted on the thread) is the violation of the USEF rules by training, coaching, etc “on behalf on a suspended person” happened 5 - 10 years ago.
I would have posted the full text about the suspension, but the file is copy protected.
PLEASE follow the link to the USEF hearings (or check your copy of Equesrian) and read the section about Jeanine Cash Zuckerman.

If you have to even ask that question you’re part of the problem. Its people like you who allow him to continue to be a part of the horse industry.
Yes, but it IS interesing that the penalty is for training “on behalf of Acres Wild” (which was also a suspended entity) rather than “on behalf of Paul Valliere”. So there may have been some form of separation between the person and the farm at the time.
I don’t know if anybody mentioned it or not but the November Suspensions have a similar situation involving Acres Wild.

So, does David Olynick still work there?
Thanks. Missed that one.
I find it amusing that some people think because something happened years ago that it should be forgotten.
It’s like saying we should forget the Holocaust or 9/11.
I’m really not sure we should be comparing the horse killings to the Holocaust or 911.

Probably not, but I understand the impulse. There’s something similar in the indifference of all three guilty parties in these examples - they wanted something (insurance money, Poland, media attention) and disregarded the fact that any objective weighing of their desires against the harm required to achieve them would have said, nope, sorry, doesn’t work.
Wasn’t comparing in terms of loss, horror, etc. However, simply said asking us to forget one horrible incident is like asking us to forget another.
Work what I said however you want. I know what I meant. I’m sure the non-nitpickers do too.
