Paul valliere
An equine better business list would be great. Especially for the really bad people who prey on the “new to horses” people.
For those who have posted about this over the years…I thought you would like to know there is a company that is about to launch exactly this very idea this summer. As soon as I get more information, links, etc., I will be sure to post it.

And, no, it’s not my project.
From what I gather roles have reversed. PV now works for David. It is no longer “Acres Wild Farms” but “Olynick Show Stables” David handles the vast majority of training.
They are both amazing trainers. PV has paid his dues. He made a very poor business decision 24 years ago and has paid dearly. In my opinion he has done his time. It is time to let it go and let the industry benefit from his talent.

You know the rapture is eminent when the PV thread gets bumped after a year.

A “poor business decision”. That sure is one way of phrasing it.

It’s still sickening after all these years. And anyone who pays PV or any of the other players one penny is condoning the behavior that made them famous.

If my opinion matters considers an animal’s loss of life a “poor business decision,” it says a lot about what kind of person he/she is. :frowning:

Moral compass = broken.

Which all adds up to people making last ditch efforts to jockey for position before the end of the world tomorrow.

A poor business decision? Seriously?

Moving on to more important things, being the immanent end of the world. After getting the “heads up” here on COTH and following the links provided, I learned through the interwebz that the world will be rebuilt in 5 short months! Those of you who pass muster will return to a new and improved version on October 21, 2011. I think the doors open at 5 pm.

I have been ignoring the Doomsday stuff all day, but this has me absolutely terrified!! Thanks Long Spot, now I have to go start digging my shelter and head to Costco for supplies and find Jesus and the whole thing!

Next I want to resurrect the Spink/Capote thread, if we’re talking end of the world. I want to go out with bug-eyes and a sick feeling.

PERFECT ending MVP! :D:lol:

I’m not sure which is more frightening …the end of the world or the fact that some people still think PV made “a very poor business decision”.

Poor “business” decision? How about poor MORAL or HUMANE decision.
Paid dearly? I think not. Three hots and a cot is not punishment enough for what he did.
The “industry” doesn’t need his kind of talent.

anybody who thinks someone like him should be allowed to make their living off of horses should ask themselves: if a teacher killed their child for their insurance money, would you want your kid in their classroom?

ok, here is my words for the story, YES he did an horrible thing, I would never want to meet him because I would probably end up killing him and going to jail for it  anyway, my point is, THE HUMAN SPECIES is the only species that kill for money. and yes it is horrible, but it is just that. and yes, we are probably the worst species on earth for doing that? but no one will ever be able to change this. so what are people suggesting? that PV dies for his actions? maybe but then again, we are back to the fact that Humans would kill, and we do.
how do we eat meat? we kill for the meat, people who have business kill for money technically. I am not saying we should forget OR/AND forgive him, because it is impossible IMO, BUT we have to get a perspective that includes the FACTS and Truth about the Human Species. All humans on Earth will have an Evil side, which includes Killing, and Money. the only difference is that some of us will fight to get only the Good part of us out there, and some will use their evil side . it is sad, but simply Life.

He Killed A Horse For Money
So I’ve been searching online for stuff about Paul Valliere, because I’ve been taking a few lessons with him and wanted to know more about this whole horse-killing thing. Of course the Chronicle forums came up in my search, and y’all clearly really hate him. My question for you is: why? I mean, yes, it’s terrible that he had a horse electrocuted for the insurance money. But it was a mistake made like 10 years ago. So what exactly is the problem with him?
Really? 'Nuff said!

Y’all must work in advertising to be able to put that kind of a spin on killed a horse for money and defrauded an insurance company.

Talk about a euphemism–“poor business decision”.

Keep the hell away from my horses…

If you Don’t get it feel very sorry for the horses in your life

I don’t electrocute horses I own for the insurance money.

No one wants him to die but we don’t want to hear about him, see his mug at horse shows or have trolls come to this board and tell us how wonderful he is when they probably weren’t even born when he was at the height of his career or when the killings were taking place. He is untrustworthy. He has tried for years to circumvent the spirit of the suspension. He has also by association gotten other people suspended, of course they were stupid enough to work for him. Did he give a rat’s ass that what he was asking them to do would get them in trouble? Doubt it. He is, without a doubt one of the most arrogant, self absorbed human beings on the planet.

There are other, better trainers, the shows have not missed him one bit. He is not the second coming of Christ. He needs to give up his crusade. No one wants him back.

Yes, but …we are the only species that has money.

He did not “accidentally” electrocute that horse, hon. It was on purpose.

I think your definition of “by accident” and “on purpose” are switched. Please switch them back. Thanks.
