And they wonder why the east coast looks down on them. Joking but not really. The horse world has a lot of bad people but it seems the majority are west coasters.

Not saying the west coast is perfect, but neither is the east coast or midwest.
Highly recommend reading Hot Blood.
Chicago is NOT the east coast . Regardless I’m not throwing shade it just seems y’all have a lot more shady people in recent memory.
Have read hot blood and am very familiar with PV.
She said East Coast or Midwest. Three of those 4 are East Coast. Jayne is Midwest.
And yet I was specifically speaking about the east coast. Also, and this was my bad, speaking about my east coast opinion that I will admit is pretty snobby on face value.
But that’s cool you speak up for your friend.
I actually don’t know Peggy, just pointing out that she did specify that her list was including the Midwest.
We do have our share in the East, look at the numbers for the current ban list.
@Jenerationx I wasn’t stating facts, I don’t even consider the US home anymore, although home is where my parents are if that makes sense.
I said “it seems”. I admitted it was snobby. No need to make onto a huge discussion. Here, I’ll help, you’re right.
Ya good now?
Thanks, Peggy. Just wanted to add:

Not a very good ambassador for the East Coast, apparently. I’ve lived both places and don’t recall anyone looking down on either coast. I guess I ran with nicer people.
Well good thing I’m out of the country than eh? Never claimed to be an ambassador so take my comments as you will. Sorry you’re lacking on drama but you’re barking up the wrong tree if ya want to start it with me on this thread.
Not trying to start anything. We’re all horsepeople, and I see no reason for anyone to look down on others.
Have a nice day/evening wherever you are.
Some of the people mentioned recently would not have had safe sport issues as far as I know.
Anyone who thinks the safe sport aspect is getting worse has not been paying attention. At least now there is some effort going into education and resources.
And some of the perpetrators are finally facing real consequences instead of just moving on to the next unsuspecting kid time after time.
If you’re referring to the ones I mentioned I was thinking about bad people, but not necessarily safe sport.
It is not “becoming an epidemic”, “it” has been going on for decades.
Unfortunately it has taken this long for child abusers to be held accountable in any manner. Still, some are getting away with hurting children and still, too many people look the other way.
No.
You are doing yourself no favors by behaving like a bratty child for no reason, to people who have been members of this BB for a long time.
Why do you bother to comment so stridently and then immediately disassociate yourself by saying that you “aren’t stating facts” and “don’t even consider the U.S. home anymore” (what does that have to do with anything?) when your inaccuracies are noted?
Not cool. At all.

People gave you facts. The only drama here is your weird response, and inability to accept that you were mistaken.
Plus, more people being reported to SafeSport doesn’t necessarily mean that there are more offenders in a particular area; it could just be that the culture on the west coast has shifted earlier than the culture on the east coast, and victims or witnesses from that area are just more willing to come forward and file reports.
I totally agree with Night Flight.
I looked at the SS database and there is not a slant towards the west coast on overall distribution . It pretty much follows population cores and the USEF base they support; east coast, Southeast and the west coast.
I think, with the current core of big name cases, some of that being the result of what is, overall , a close community coming together and saying Me Too. These cases have had some prominent publicity and discussion

That’s an interesting thought about the cultural shift. It seems to me that, at least in my area of the east coast, the Old Guard is still alive and well and protecting those who have committed transgressions in the past.
That’s sad. I get it… but it’s just sad.
