He’s just been made permanently ineligible for sexual misconduct involving a minor and physical misconduct involving a minor, in the most recent batch of case updates. From what’s been said, he was the keep-around boy-toy of the barn owner/head trainer - hence his being employed there - and was actively trying to get sex from/sexually harassing/sexually assaulting underage females who rode there, which apparently also includes the boss lady’s daughter.

Perhaps this “From what’s been said” is the part of the problem with SS. What’s been said and what really happened are two different things.
The trainer in this situation was investigated and found to be clear of any involvement. The accusation that they were dating the perpetrator is absolutely false and the repetition of that allegation is hurtful (and defamatory). I’d appreciate it if you’d remove that from your post since you are simply repeating hearsay.
I am saddened by the final outcome for the victim and I hope they can get the help they need to be healed. There is much to this story that will never be reported accurately to the public and much that was reported (especially by a ‘horse reporter’ in the area) that is inaccurate and salacious, and down right defamatory.

“It was not easy for sure, after all of this happened my mental health really started to decline, and as soon as [Brown] came into our lives there was a lot of stress that was happening between all of our relationships between the three of us, and being an only child my mom and my dad are really all I had, they were my family.”
According to the news reports, the public records attached to the separation and divorce show that Jill has been living in the same home as Harrison Brown. She has also not denied being a relationship with Harrison and simply refuses to talk about it and her business partners won’t discuss anything relating to the investigation and allegations.

That doesn’t sound good. At all.
I still believe in the importance and role of SafeSport in terms of filling a gap that exists due to limitations of the criminal justice system when addressing matters of sexual abuse.
However… the Barisone-Kanarek matter illustrates how SafeSport can be weaponized.
I have no idea what the facts of the situation you are referencing are… but it’s a real shame if it’s another messed up situation.

If I say anything, I’ll be accused of victim shaming. I disagree with your reading between the lines of a family situation. Me Too has victims on all sides of a situation, not just the sympathetic one who can speak freely. Enjoy your day.

The accused offender’s father is said to be a close friend and business partner with the trainer and it was claimed that he had been filing retaliatory police reports against his victim/her daughter, for providing alcohol to minors, in order to discredit her and get her complaint thrown out. Whatever is going on there, it’s pretty messed up.

Michael Roccaforte (Dressage) of Carmel, Indiana is suspended by SafeSport for allegations of misconduct. He was arrested by local law enforcement in 2022, for possession of child pornography and disseminating/exhibiting child pornography. His wife is involved in Dressage as a member of the Indiana Dressage organizations and works shows.

The father sounds like a real bully. Implying that the accuser drank underage, and what? That makes her report false? You can drink underage and still be raped.

I guess I am not sure what you and @Calvincrowe are saying. It seems like a lot of hints are being dropped that this was a false report and it was a “set up” that was mishandled by safesport but won’t outright state it. I just don’t see the benefit of this young girl falsely accusing a barn hand? Why risk the online harassment and stigma. I’m not trying to start anything, I just don’t think it’s helpful to say a lot of… not much.

Funny how many male abusers got married to cover their tracks. Look respectable, get a wife, have a kid.
We joke about their attraction to youngsters.
Many are too smart to get caught. Some were lucky to pass away before SS was initiated.
Hopefully parents are better trained now.
