Pictures from WEG

P![](ctures from WEG - 9/19/10

I was over at the Kentucky Horse Park today to set up stalls for our horses in the Equine Village. It’s incredible. I’ve been in and out of the KHP for the past 5 years. And this is so different and exciting.

Pictures don’t capture the electric atmosphere of the ‘calm before the storm’ or international feel of this event. But best of all - even in early these days - there are plenty of hot European men! Nothing like Brits in cowboy hats. Seriously. omg.

lol!

Our stabling area - Colonial Spanish & Nokota. Still can’t believe we’re there!

Wow.

Wow.

Oh, God. I’m freaking out a little. I can’t wait… but I’m freaking out.

Do you have a feel for when schooling is going to be allowed? My ride’s owner doesn’t seem to be able to dig up info on that, and I NEED to school, especially sidesaddle… (I need it, she’s old hat at all of this.)

I come in on Thurs, I think we’ll stop in on the way home from the airport for me to meet Tori.

 :dead:

Thanks for sharing the pics but I didn’t see any with the cute men??? LOL

My husband was the photographer. In the interest of domestic bliss, I figured it wouldn’t be cool to ask him to pictures of hot European men. lol!

Jaime - the setup for Equine Village is awesome. There will be plenty of opportunity to school. It’s beyond our expectations. No worries, girl!

The teams were busy decorating yesterday before the trailers arrived from quarantine. The US stalls right behind the stabling office looked great with flags and banners everywhere. Not sure if those were Jumping, Eventing, Driving, Para stalls as no horses were in them yet.

A total of 6 trailers arrived yesterday evening with the Spanish, Dutch, German, British, and some more just can’t remember horses.

It was fun to talk to some of the British riders who began jumping up and down in excitement when the trailers came around the corner on Nina Boone Blvd. They were excited to see their horses again after several days apart. I admit I got goosebumps.

You sa![](d it right, the calm before the storm, how exciting to see these photos and do a side by side later.

Pictures from what going on

If you want to join the dressage people and their horse at KHP just take a look at German Christoph Koschel´s blog

You will find it in the calendar by www.horse2rider.eu

Thank you for the glimpse at what’s coming! Any other photos will be most welcome!

I have quite a few on my camera, as I have been taking pictures over the last few weeks. I will upload them tonight and join the picture sharing party. I have to clear it out anyway, so that I can fill it up again during WEG. One of the only perks to working at the KHP right now is that I can wander around on my lunch breaks!

Pinto-- make sure you have your credentials when you come to see Tori. I am told that the horse park locks down tonight and it will be impossible to get in without them from now till this craziness is over. (She looks great, by the way. I drive by her field every few days to check out how the Big Barn is coming!)

Nina BONNIE-that’s a biggie, instrumental in the Parks very exsistence…believe she is either a Murphy or married into that family that basically runs the horseshow side of the Park. Everything there from roads to rings to stall plaques is named for donors, important we recognize them.

The Boone family just shows there.

Sorry I knew something wasn’t right but I’ve been behind my computer all day working on my thesis so my brain is a little fried. I kept typing it different ways and finally I was like I think this might be right. Thanks for the correction

Borrow the camera and go shoot some pics of those hot Brits in cowboy hats!

Wow, I can’t believe the time is almost here!

I am going to walk around tomorrow on my lunch break and take pictures of the calm before the storm.

Ddashaq -thanks for pictures!

I’m definitely putting Bourbon Village on my ‘to-do list’. lol!

Text is in Dutch, but here are some pictures of the stables and also dressage horses training, including Totilas, Nadine, and Ravel.

Somehow, it is amazing to me that they are using the same stalls as always at KHP… and I love Nadine with just a leadrope to hold her in!

It looks a bit crispy.

The park is buzzing with activity at the moment!

Love the pictures Mao ~ thanks for sharing ~ GOOD LUCK & ENJOY ~
